Saturday, February 02, 2013 8:55:16 PM Excellent video @OldOllie! thx! It's literally right in my backyard (less than a 2 hour drive) but I've only been there once? I'll make amends this year, and post the video here |

Saturday, February 02, 2013 6:38:49 AM Back in my squaddie days, our CO got bit by a snake and nearly died one time. On hearing about events and whilst Our Leader was still touch-and-go in hospital, one of the chaps said "is the snake alright?" |

Friday, February 01, 2013 10:16:44 PM When I was a kid, you could get 25 cents for a good snake. This would have been a gold mine. The only problem is that those little buggers BITE! They not poisonous, and the don't even draw blood, but a few hundred of them could be a bit annoying. |

Friday, February 01, 2013 9:10:05 PM @dragonj1: Oh yeah! That's a thread-winner! Welcome to IAB! (I thought MY posts were pretty darn good, but that one "takes the prize"!) @carmium: apx 30-50 males per female... let your fantasies run amuk! (The females are much bigger than the males, just fyi...) @SarahofBorg: I'll go this spring & take more pictures! I so vow!!! (cue dramatic music...) Really, Manitoba's snakes are a "world class" thing... |

Friday, February 01, 2013 6:03:26 PM They aren't venomous, so I think he'd be a little more ok with this than a group of cobras. |

Friday, February 01, 2013 5:08:10 PM I live in New England and I've seen this. Not to this extreme, but I've stumbled across large plies of garter snakes before. I used to find garter snakes and play with them all the time when I was a kid. My mother used to freak out when I found one and brought it in the house and wanted to keep it. |

Friday, February 01, 2013 4:29:55 PM That's most likely: MANITOBA! Narcisse Snake Pits I've been there, it's very nice!! Link To Snakey Picture I took this pic myself! In October 2006. It's fall, that's why there's so few of them. You can see the "caves" they crawl into and go several feet underground to wait out the winter. |
