Wednesday, January 30, 2013 6:21:02 AM I would like to hear Jackie Chan say again how corrupt America is. Corrupt: I don't think it means what you think it means. The problem you described is a problem of culture, not corruption. |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 10:37:01 PM I can't imagine a kid getting kicked that hard and not even crying. OldOllie says'...unless he's become used to it.' That was what I thought when I watched it. You can sense the routine in it. Terrible. ...and I wonder how mom does with her beatings? Lowest common denominator. |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 7:35:45 PM This is not unusual in China. People will not interfere with a parent "disciplining" their children, and you would probably end up on the wrong side of the law for intervening. I would like to hear Jackie Chan say again how corrupt America is. To those who say we are as bad, let's see you beat a child in public with that many people around and just walk away. I would bet someone would hand you your ass, and then call the police. |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 6:00:46 PM What bothers me is that the camera man obviously saw this happening before he started filming... @gary8162: I disagree. The child is still walking down the stairs when the camera turns to film them. I think what happened was: (and it's just a guess) he was filming something else, heard the man yelling, turned to film that. What could he (the camera person) do? From that far away? Nothing. It's really NOT his (or her) fault for inaction. Those much closer? Yeah I balme them, but I also understand that it's human nature. The "mother" otoh? I blame her just as much as the "father" for allowing this to happen... |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 3:48:15 PM Bullpoo. There's discipline and then there's taking out your uncontrollable anger issues on a defenseless toddler. I don't care if he looked his dad straight in the eye and called him a m*****f****** c*** before pulling a knife on him ... that first kick was uncalled for, the second was just flat out abuse. I've spanked my kids and on rare occasion even slapped them (enough that it got their attention, not enough to cause any physical pain or a mark) ... and everyone would agree that our kids are two of the most well-mannered kids you could ever hope for (every trip to WalMart proves that). There's zero drating excuse for what this guy did. |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 2:13:35 PM @ferdyfred: No problem, just pointing that out :) Also, that occasional "nuke the whole damn human species off of the face of this planet" sentiment get to me as well. And yet again may I point out, can you imagine what that bastard would have done to the child and/or wife afterwards, if any vigilante style action was taken? This indeed should be the case for authorities. Or neighbors. Had I such a neighbor in vicinity I would make sure to break his other arm once the other one healed. |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 2:06:07 PM i only wish american parents did this... maybe then their kids wouldn't grow up to be such asshats (like their parents). think about it, if parents "lowered the boom" as my grandfather called it... kids would RESPECT authority instead of flipping it the finger. and you all know i'm right. |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 11:03:42 AM I'm in the "not going to watch this" camp. The only people that should be seeing this are the police and social services wherever that is. As for people standing around doing nothing; I'm afraid that's what people do. Look how many stood around doing nothing during the Holocaust. Look how many let the atrocities in several South American countries like Chile and Argentina take place in the 1970's, then let the perpetrators off afterwards when they visited our nice democracies like Britain for medical treatment in later years. Look how many people do nothing about those responsible for the war crimes like abduction, torture and murder that have been committed in the War On Terror. People, by our nature, do nothing. It's what we do. |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 10:54:58 AM Agreed - why the flip was nothing done, why was the person filming just watching along with 40 other flipping morons? Take that prick down a peg, that's just a kid man. A child, being a child. I seriously cannot believe, no matter where in the world this happened, that no person who saw that, did nothing and said nothing. |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 10:37:17 AM Ok, from now on we shouldn't let anybody post videos like this on here unless action was taken. I don't know what's worse, the parent kicking the kid or the bystander just filming. |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 8:08:18 AM Well, I detest kids, but if I'd witnessed that, that poo would have woken in the hospital, to find that whilst he was unconscious, all his teeth had been knocked out with a brick. |

Tuesday, January 29, 2013 6:19:43 AM What bothers me is that the camera man obviously saw this happening before he started filming, which is why he started filming. And still, he did nothing. Personally, I would have gone down there and kicked the dad square in the nuts, then kicked him again when he got up. It wouldn't be the first time I've stood up in a crowd to take action to stop something so obviously wrong. |
