Sunday, January 20, 2013 3:04:19 AM @Jury1of1 Damb I find MacGuffin as annoying as the next person. But at least have something worthwhile to criticise her with. Maybe thenedman who submitted it might not have linked the two together. And receptionists learn about their companies and she's right you want access to a company often they check how people treated all their staff and not just ones you think are important. Secretaries, receptionists and PA's are the secret oracles of companies and know all that goes on... |

Saturday, January 19, 2013 3:32:48 PM @Jury1of1: They advise never to argue with idiots since they'll only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience, so I won't. It's enlightening to know you have such a low opinion of receptionists, though. FWIW, when deciding whether or not to take on a consultancy contract in a particular organisation I always take note of how they treat the 'little people' like receptionists and security guards. It saves me from wasting any pearls of wisdom on gobshytes like you. People are always nice to me since I've got something of value to offer them, but by observing how they act with those people they don't care about impressing I get to see their true personalities and save myself the trouble of accepting offers from people that will only be trouble in the long run. It's like the insincere guy who's nice to you on a first date but rude to the waiter: always a jerk to avoid having a second date with. |

Saturday, January 19, 2013 3:10:29 PM @MacGuffin Good thing you mentioned you're working in the game industry, because really, no one else would have ever pieced together the ploy of flashy promo's not equaling quality games. Also, how does working as a receptionist give you this oracle-esque insight into the gaming industry and its associated mysteries? |

Saturday, January 19, 2013 10:54:26 AM My present gig is in the games industry. Whenever I see trailers instead of releases I know that the company involved is using the "Duke Nukem" approach to software development. |

Saturday, January 19, 2013 8:30:13 AM I'd rather see a 30 second preview of a gameplay mechanic than a fancy trailer |

Saturday, January 19, 2013 12:52:31 AM An FPS game set in a near future, dystopian city, with androids and cyber cops? how original. I realize this franchise has a long history, but its been done... Syndicate,Deus Ex,Shadowrun, etc.the Syndicate reboot could have been awesome,if they'd stuck to the original game style but was ultimately just another one of these cookie cutter sci-fi shooters. Take a look at Dishonored for an example of a moderately original setting and style. I'm cautiously optimistic about Bioshock Infinite, but as for this type of game and it's themes/settings, I think I'll just wait for half-life 3. |

Friday, January 18, 2013 1:35:06 PM This game isn't even due out until 2015, so it is just a 'teaser' in the truest sense of the word. It was more of a promotion for Witcher 3 which is due out a lot sooner. That said, it has my attention. We need more games set in cyberpunk universes. What was the last one we had, Human Revolution? Yeah we need more of that. |

Friday, January 18, 2013 1:11:50 PM This is actually based on a tabletop RPG, originally titled Cyberpunk 2020. It first came out in 1989. I've never played it, but I've thumbed through a couple of the books. |

Friday, January 18, 2013 1:11:02 PM To be fair to the creators of this, a previous title, witcher 2, with everything maxed flattens most pc's out there and looks truly gorgeous. Obviously its not gonna be like the pre rendered trailer but even sceptics will likely be impressed |

Friday, January 18, 2013 12:52:33 PM If ive learnt one thing about video games over the years, its NEVER EVER to believe what the trailers show. Only the stupid amongst us would get excited for a game solely based on a pre-rendered mini film that has nothing to do with the game and isnt relevant to the game. |

Friday, January 18, 2013 12:16:09 PM Nice! Very "Bladerunner-esque" eh? But they still wear ugly shoes in 2077? *sigh* Too bad. |

Friday, January 18, 2013 12:03:14 PM If it's half as good as the witcher, it will still be better than the usual industry offerings. Cautiously optimistic. |

Friday, January 18, 2013 11:25:16 AM saw this on pcgamer, the premise seems cool. From what it seems like it's going to have a darker psychological feel to it. If they can do it correctly it should turn out to be a great game. |
