I've just been converted to gun ownership, I would gladly shoot these people if they turned up at my door. Once they had all been killed off to accelerate evolution I would then also be happy to get rid of it and put the sign up. |

If you can't be bothered to at least try and understand a persons point then don't expect them to care about what you have to say. I mean seriously, I've said several times that this is the wrong way to make a point after someone has wronged you. Do I think the people posting their names online were right in doing so? Nope, but that doesn't mean they should go harassing people. This looks like a revenge tactic to me, and it is in horrible taste to boot.

Let's see, I own many different size screwdrivers for when I'm working on something. I own many different size chisels for when I'm turning something on the lathe. I own many different size sockets and wrenches for working on my vehicles (which I also own different sizes of). I own many different sizes of pots, pans, bowls, knives and spoons for when I cook.
So, being a firm believer in 'the right tool for the right job', should I not own a variety of handguns? I mean, a Ruger Mark III is perfect for plinking targets, while the .45 ACP P90 is much better for home, and the PPK variant I have is much more comfortable to conceal (just to name a few). |

@5Cats: I dont usually care what people decide I am, I let people label me however they need to, I have my own convictions and morals I don't intend for everyone I meet to agree with me. Either way, I appreciate the welcome.

1. i own guns. plural.
2. i think all able minded non-felons should be able to defend themselves.
3. i do not own an sks, ar-15, or ak-47.
4. i do not have a class d dealers license to own automatic weapons.
all this proves is that i am only armed as much as the law allows. WHICH IS AS IT SHOULD BE.I have a concealed carry permit. i rarely exorcise it unless i'm forced to.
My .380 is fine for personal defense when jogging/biking. I carry my .45 when i have to do a server install in the middle of the ghetto. at no point in my life have i needed to carry a .50 cal desert eagle for "personal defense". do I WANT to own a fully auto uzi? oh god yes. do i think i should, or any average american household? oh god no.but don't post my address on the news. that's a sign saying "come steal my guns" to the criminals.

@VikingGuy: The journalists involved DID print (or post, I forget which) the addresses of LEGAL gun owners in that area. Well, the newspaper they all work for did.
Yet they, themselves, refused to admit they were "gun free"? Smacks of hypocricy! They "outed" others, but refuse to "out" themselves, eh?

You know what 5Cats, your right, I do live in an awesome country, so why don't you move here and deal with the same poo? Unless you're lying about where you're from. You seem awfully concerned about OUR constitution for someone who isn't from this country.
Seriously though, where the hell did you get that I'm against freedom of speech anywhere in my posts? You're free to make an ass out of yourself all you like, but it sure as hell wont help your cause at all. Why not go about it in an intelligent way that doesn't make people cringe with distaste.
The problem I have with most of the VOCAL gun owners is that they have a damn consistant habit of making me frustrated. They get all in your poo because you disagree and all I can do is laugh to myself thinking something along the lines of, 'so what, I'm supposed to feel good that you own a gun?' No, I don't because people like that seem to be ready to fly off the handle at any moment.

it's stupid on both sides, there was some lady posting peoples addresses because they owned a gun, and this in turn is fairly dumb and petty. it reminds me of a kindergarten level squabble instead of a proper debate on a matter. all both sides actions do is show that some people simply involve themselves in a debate to fire off their mouth without having a clue what it's even about. |
