Not to mention that his story contradicts itself. It says the guy shot his girlfriend, but then it says an off-duty cop shot him before anybody was hurt. |

Its irrelevant, it not what you meant to say but how the largest common denominator takes it, yes it has racial connotations people don't appreciate. You can argue the toss as to whether you're allowed to do it or not but whether you meant it as a joke or not its rude and shouldn't be done. People are that dumb that they see one man making a joke and think its ok to use it in a derogatory manner and there ya go. His girlfriend worked at that restaurant, the gunman fired shots AT the restaurant, AT a cop car AND in the theater. WHY would the "concervative media" need to embellish that story?

I'm not just digging into conservatives with that. If I read a news item that is exactly what I want to hear red flags go off, and I go research at a couple different news sources, because almost always something isn't right with the story. (I am super super sick right now. Is there supposed to be a comma before the 'because"?) |

Whether you read it on the email or a blog regurgitating the email, the lie about the girlfriend was burned in your head. All I was questioning was your mention of the girlfriend not the shooting. I'm just saying you question everything liberals say but seam to take verbatim anything you read on conservative sites. Take the made up girl out of the picture and you don't quite have as sensational of a story as to be picked up by the national media. That is why the girlfriend was thrown in. It adds a human touch, and then people can bitch about a local news item not being picked up. |

The detail of the girlfriend being shot may be in error, (she wasn't at work) but the rest was correct.
Gunman, restaurant, shooting, shot police car, theater, shooting, got shot, no one died.

Yes, newspapers make mistakes! Look at the "school shooting prevented" posts I made! The article said "police were there within 3 minutes" but the actual video? Cops were over 8 minutes in responding! And an extra 2-3 minutes because the "security doors" were locked.

Again, I'm not for taking anyone's guns (mostly--I do think that military grade automatic weapons and armor piercing ammunition ought to be banned), but the Second Amendment BS has got to stop. The second amendment does not allow you to own an arsenal. It does not allow you to buy and stockpile enough weaponry and rounds to kill several hundred...deer. It was written for a very specific purpose and you're undermining and retarding it by lying and misrepresenting it.
Own guns. Fine. Let's enter into some responsible conversations, reasonable ones, about how to stop stuff like Sandy Hook or Aurora from happening. Almost no one is trying to take your guns. So why not quit misrepresenting one of the most wonderful foundations of government ever by lying about it. Please. |
