@DFWBrysco millions of dollars sounds off for something using conventional servos and fishing line. its only an animatronic. There are more complicated (expensive) robot hands out there.
also, this could be controlled / animated by a computer or remotely. dismembered crawling hand anyone? of course everyone just does CG :D

It is way too simple for a prosthetic. The only thing correct is bending the fingers, but you also have a wrist, can move each finger sideways, bend the knuckles independently and have even more freedom on the thumb (which you see when the tips dont meet on the Animatronic while pinching) |

This is useful for further developing proper mechanics for a prosthetic hand. Also, this is no "too simple" since this is exactly how the real hand works. All the finger muscles are on the forearm, there are no muscles on the fingers themselves, only biological strings that pull. The only difference is that the middle finger and ring finger use the same muscle. |

This is fun and happy and all and I like to see the advancement of robotics.. but frankly, this company spent (most likely) millions of dollars developing a hand... that mimics another hand?
What the hell use is that? It's useless as a prosthetic (it's faster just to use the hand it's mimicing) and frankly - without sensors to detect tactile input or the ability to react independently could be extremely dangerous.
Without a prosthetic purpose in mind, this is no more exciting and advanced than the animatronic wind-up dolls they produced in the 18th and 19th centuries. In fact, those are more amazing, because they are completely mechanically programmed and don't "mimic" something else. |

OK. That looks neat. Quite possibly legit. BUT... I can't help but think that someone under the table with their gloved hand sticking up through a hole placed cleverly in front of a servo-filled shell would produce much the same effect... Hmmm...
