@burbclaver: The point is not its awesome cleaning ability. The point is owning a fu$&ing robot that (semi)autonomously cleans your house! It's not quite Rosie from the Jetsons, but it's here now. |

I had a Roomba too. It was crap. You spend more time cleaning the tangled fluff out of it and emptying the tiny trash bin than you would do just doing the cleaning yourself. It also left big black marks all along the white baseboards. Total piece of junk. |

I have one of these Roombas. It's a pain in the arse. Will eat any stray wires on the floor (especially mobile phone charger wires), plus socks I left around. It also has a tendency to get stuck under the u bend of the toilet (which is a posh one installed by my landlord that attaches to the wall leaving floor clearance of not quite enough). Failing that, I sometimes find it humping the hell out of my IKEA floor lamp's curved base which it has a curious affinity for.
Oh, and it doesn't like my IKEA deep pile rug. Avoids it completely, won't drive over it.
Moral of the story, don't get one, stick to the baby only. |
