In sweden the cops doesnt give out parking tickets, we have a special kind of cun.t for that. |

I've seen that around here - cracked me up. But in snow-bound areas you have parking regulations where everyone's suppose to park on one side of the street on even-numbered days and on the other side on odd-numbered days so plows can keep the streets cleared. It's a pain in the damn ass when people don't abide and narrower streets are a horrific mess to navigate, if passable at all because of these people.
There are also other laws that say you're not allowed to leave your car parked more than 24hrs on public streets. Cops will rarely notice if you do ... until they notice that it snowed on Monday and come Wednesday your car is still covered in it. :) |

If I was a cop(gasp) and I pulled you over for a non violent offense, I would do the same. Pure respect for those that serve. Yeah there is a few nut jobs in the service spoiling it in the press but overall, RESPECT and thanks. That goes out to my Canadian Brothers in arms. I did my stint in the early 90's. |

From my experience, best way to get out of a ticket is being a veteran. I have a POW/MIA, and a USMC Eagle, Globe & Anchor sticker on the back window of my truck, 9 out of 10 times the cop checks my license/plates then asks when I was in the Marines, what I did & where I went. Then he says the usual, "Thanks for your service, please try to slow it down a little bit. Have a nice day!" |

ferdyfred - recently my wife got pulled over for "speeding". She was less than 5mph over but the officer said she was 10 over. She was polite with him the entire time and he was a flaming prick from the moment he started talking. I have had some good experiences and talked my way out of tickets, but I've had as many or more bad experiences. One cop threatened to arrest me once when I approached him to tell him about a crime I'd witnessed. He told me I was trying to tell him how to do his job. I finally walked away. |

Clearly the ticket was in place before the snow fell, otherwise there would be more disruption around the wipers.
Ever tried threading paper past wet rubber and glass? You can't do it without lifting the wipers. |
