Never been a fan of starbucks, not sure if that makes me hipster or uber-hipster
As has been said, mcdonalds coffee is just as good if not better...certainly better considering the price anyway |

More on topic though, I'm glad to see Starbucks isn't affected by the recession. I think Jimmy had the right idea that they are just seeing how much they can get away with. |

This is my biggest problem with Tim's. Usually if you buy a franchise you get some territory, but where I live there are six of them in a 1km radius. Sometimes they're even close to being right across the street from each other, it's ridiculous. And people see those long queues and think that if you own a Tim's that you must make so much money, when in reality they make maybe $30-50k in profit a year. Owning a Tim's is a waste of time. |

@ davymid... Meh. Tim Hortons is like our "McDonalds" of coffee. It's usually the first you have, so you have a nostalgic soft-spot towards it. It's not the best coffee, but it's just "familiar" in a pleasant sense.
If you Live/Work in Toronto there are dozens of indi-places for awesome coffee.
IMHO the best coffee in Toronto is "Sense Appeal" on Spadina Ave, Just South of Adelaide. $2.65 for an Americano, they roast their own beans, and they have really good food, too.
NO. I don't work there/own it. I love their coffee that much I'm loyal and feel they deserve a plug. |

I'm proud to say I've never been to Starbucks, but I knew a guy who bought their ground coffee and made it in his office. He gave me a cup, and I thought it tasted like used transmission fluid. I drink Great Value (Wal-mart store brand) and it tastes MUCH better. |

I'm one of those rare people who doesn't drink coffee. My caffeine of choice is Diet Coke. But man, all my adult life I've almost felt like lying about it because people almost don't know what to do with you when they offer you coffee and you say "no thanks, I don't drink coffee". Funny thing is, I used to drink it occasionally with my dad when I was a little kid. Habit didn't stick, though. |

I hate to be "that person" but I can guarantee I could have known they were the same coffee. I can aslo tell the person if the coffee was pressed, poured, or dripped. Part of living in Seattle is you enjoy the dickens out of coffee. I could go so far as to tell you if it was a blond roast, medium or dark. I can tell you when your tea is over steeped, and I can usually identify if it's chinese, japanese, or english tea. All I do is sit around, and draw/wright while drinking some sort of hot beverage.

I'm a coffee drinker and I only go to Starbucks if it's the only place I can find. Terrible, over-roasted, over-caffeinated coffee. |
