Friday, November 16, 2012 2:37:12 AM I loved casino royal...I liked quantum of solace, I hated skyfall. Scapegoat, the villian was Javier Bardem, who masterfully portrayed the amusingly sociopath assassin in one of my favorite movies, "No Country for Old Men." I expected his performance as the villain in Skyfall to be spectacular. Instead he came off like a nerdy vengeful bipolar bisexual with a mommy complex. They tried too hard to add a broad range of complex emotion and depth, throw in some nostalgia with a bit of gadgetry to lure in those wishing to visit memory lane, and the entire movie turned into a flop. But then, I'm too young to enjoy corny poorly filmed british movies from half a century ago, so I still go with Craig... based solely on the evolution of hollywood film making. |

Friday, November 16, 2012 2:33:09 AM Sean Connery hands down. He personified the role and he had some of those great lines. |

Friday, November 16, 2012 2:23:51 AM Tim Dalton is underrated because his first film was so bad, but Licence Revoked is still one of my favourites. Gerry, if you're counting Casino Royale you have to include Woody Allen too. And possibly Bob Holness. |

Friday, November 16, 2012 1:36:30 AM I will admit though, that Daniel Craig is the only that looks like he could actually be a secret agent in real life. He's built like an athlete and could probably kick some ass. Oh, and for people that have seen it (not really a spoiler), What was up with the fruity bad guy (have nothing against gays) but he tryed to feel bond up. Which did lead to my fav. line. "What makes you think this is my first time?" |

Friday, November 16, 2012 1:29:11 AM both wrong, this; 1) Moore 2) Craig 3) Connery (the fight scenes in some of his films are pathetic) 4) Dalton 5) Brosnan (mumbler and 5hit story-lines didn't help him) 6)Lazenby |

Friday, November 16, 2012 1:18:18 AM Just saw the movie last night. Had heard great things and was super excited b/c Bond films are some of my fav's. But other then the first ten minutes, I have to agree with others that the new movies are missing something (in a bad way). -Lack of gadgets (like many noticed) -Lack of humor (the other ones were way funnier) Pussy Galore -Lack of memorable villains (Dr. Evil (with evil cat), Jaws, Midget with hat throwing skills) -And maybe its just me but the woman were way hotter in the older ones, not really a fan of the super skinny, model types that seem too young for him. But what I hate most of all is the fact that these new movies are making money. Daniel Craig is just wrong for the role and i was really hoping this one would be his last but i believe they signed him up for two more. I even read he doesn't really care for the role and has actually been wanting out since he first signed up (But in the end, IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY). |

Thursday, November 15, 2012 8:56:37 PM Official James Bonds (ie not Niven or Woody) in order of greatness: 1)Connery 2)Brosnan 3)Moore 4)Dalton 5)Lazenby 6)Craig I find the new Bonds entertaining and enjoyable, but Craig and the seeming "reinvention" of the Bond franchise just don't feel like Bond to me anymore - but I grew up in the Connery/Moore years. |

Thursday, November 15, 2012 8:48:55 PM Connery will always be my favorite Bond. I'm really liking Craig though, his Bond has a mean streak and is much more brutal than any of the others. Craigs Bond was the first Bond to kill in cold blood without thinking about it, which I always thought was a trait that someone licensed to kill should have. |

Thursday, November 15, 2012 8:14:35 PM Turdburglar: Yeah, I'd say goldeneye played a big part for me. The gadgets stick out most for me, but also the lack of quips, the bond girls (traditional bond girls) and the general bond persona. Dr Sexy: I think you nailed it with "British Bourne". SPOILERS I'm getting the feeling that the latest movies are almost prequels to 007. What with Moneypenny being introduced and bond not really beeing a "00" yet. The Bond character is also quite a lot less self-assured than the usual, with out the one-liners, and I'm hoping it's because they're treating this as Bond becoming the typical "007" we've seen before. |

Reganom - You have a good point there, I felt something was different and you nailed it...part of Bond is the cool gadgets. Same here with Brosnan. I thought he was good, but was 16 when Goldeneye came out and I loved the video game too, so I may be bias. Connery was great too. I don't dislike Roger Moore, he is just my least favorite if I had to choose. |

Thursday, November 15, 2012 8:07:42 PM Timothy Dalton is a very underrated Bond, Connery is definitely the best Bond. Moore's films are some of my favorites though - view to a kill with Christopher Walken, the man with the golden gun with Christopher Lee. Daniel Craig's Bond doesn't really have any Bond qualities, he's basically a British Bourne. |
