Odd system, over here, degrees are made up of set modules, choices are for extra classes like languages.

"Was it 50 miles, uphill, both ways?"
Yes. And always only one seat open which was between two fat guys in hot weather...

I've tried every scheduling strategy and it came down to one inevitable truth...classes suck at any time you schedule them. Morning classes are bad cause they're in the morning, and afternoon classes suck because everyone else is done with class for the day.
I thought a 3hr night class that met once a week would be cool, which is actually not too bad. However, to those who are starting college, make sure you get every requirement out of your way in the beginning, especially in your major. My senior year just consists of 12 credit hour semesters, but it's more difficult than any other semester and I don't really get any electives.

@hostofme16 the truth is the truth. I didn't mention all the time I had to wait outside in the middle of a Minnesota winter to catch those buses, now did I? I also had to walk a mile to high school all three years and that WAS up a large hill on the way TO school. Kids are such candy-a$$es nowadays. They would NEVER walk a mile to school, ever. Let alone in the winter.

My classes always fill up so fast. Since I can preview the times for them, and which ones I need and want, I make a list of which to sign up for in order of urgency. Then I make sure I'm at a computer at the time the site allows us to register. This effort has given me really sweet time tables. Like only going to school 3 days a week, or finishing early. I don't mind the 8AM classes. Unless it's a Monday.

Oh, and the only way I could be in choir and be able to attend the rehearsals after 6pm on Tuesdays, I had to take a separate set of buses that ran that late to my brother's house and sleep on his couch.

Boo hoo. I always had an 8 am class and, except for senior year, I had to ride for an hour and a half on two buses to get to class because I lived at home to save money.

Lousy scheduling, meaningless degrees, limited job opportunities, put you in debt for years- what a DEAL!!! Wakee, wakee America- sliding right into third world status.

Back when I did this it meant lining up in the old armory for paper tags representing a space in each class.
"Nope; that's full"
"I've got the evening class open"
"That's been cancelled"
You lined up for each required course first and hoped to hell you got spaces in them.
Memories... 8-[

Never take an Art History class! Especially at 8 in the morning! Not only is it continual streams of bull sh**tery they turn off the light an look at slides making it impossible to stay awake!

Class registration time is worse than finals time for me <_< It's awful. I got stuck with a 7:30 am class this semester because it's literally the only time it was offered. On thursdays I have class at 7:30, 10:30, 12, 4:30, and 6. If I actually stay on campus the full day (which I don't usually because the 12:00 class is optional) I'm on campus from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm x_x Next semester I have another early class (I think 8:30 this time) and late class (I think 4:30-7:15) on t/th because there's no other option. I actually prefer early classes cause at least I can get them out of the way early and free up the rest of my day but it sucks for tests because I'm usually tired. Or like how I couldn't fall asleep last night and I'm currently running off of 3 hours of sleep cause I had to wake at 5 :X

This rings true from my experience. Rarely could I schedule all the classes I wanted. The worst were the ones only offered in second semester at one time and that was the only section of that class. In order to take them I always had to drop another I wanted to take. First world problems.
