5Rats: I answered you. Other presidents were never so thoroughly obstructed before. You said they were, and I asked you for links or citations. Still waiting...

Please also cite some evidence for your claim of "got a bunch of them to vote in support" since JUST ONE Repub voted for it! Back up your idiocy once in a while!

Are you saying that the GOP did NOT shatter all filibuster records? Look it up. (and
it was right ON the subject, but whatever, you just make up the rules as you go.)

Arlen Specter was elected as a Republican for 44 years! Some RINO, eh? (yeah, there's no 'H' in it) Why is it that, in your mind, a moderate, centrist Republican is not a Republican? And your derisive comment about the Warren Commission? Do you think the JFK death was a conspiracy? Is it possible we agree on something? Whoa...

Lastly, I do not tweet, do not read tweets, I've never been to Twitter.

You keep bringing up Obamacare as if that bolsters some point you are trying to make. Now you're saying your point is that Obamacare "WAS PASSED... with Repub support?" Is that what you're saying?

The House vote was 220-215. Only ONE Republican voted for it. The Senate vote was 60-39, with ZERO Republicans voting for it. Is that really what you call "Repub support?" Gimme a break!

(I didn't pay much attention to the silly waste of time and money that was the attempt to impeach Clinton, but I do know your reference to Hillary, nice try.)

@chalket: I asked why OTHER presidents were able to negotiate with their parties in minority positions, BUT OBAMA can't even do so with a solid majority!
I asked when did the GOP fili- Obamacare... oh yeah! The Dems negotiated and got a bunch of them to vote in supoport! AMAZING!

YOU blathered on about "record numbers" as if ONLY one side is responsible for that.

THAT is changing the subject.

Arlen Specter is a stooge. He sat on the Warren Commission ffs! He was ALWAYS a RHINO so what, again, is your point? OH YEAH! It's impossible to get him to vote for the Dems! But he'll actually change parties... wait, what?

This is to be expected @chalket: YOU get your 'facts' from lefty tweets! LOLZ!
"Oooo! Someone tweeted it, it must be true!"

Oh yeah, you also constantly toss poo (insults) which -totally- makes you look -so- smart!

5Rats: So sorry to confuse you... exactly how did I "utterly change[d] the subject?" Just rebutting the points you brought up. Try to keep up, would you? (btw: the word is "biscuit")

Who's fault? The Grand Obstruction Party, of course! No, it is NOT "the oppositions JOB to OPPOSE," not in politics. They traditionally (meaning pre-Tea-Party) would discuss and debate and occasionally even COMPROMISE! <gasp!>

Frankly, I find it a mystery as to how the GOP/TP could so often keep such a unified front on their side. Quite impressive (and depressive). With such total control there really weren't any "squishy votes" to find.

"A Repub even crossed parties"
Yes, but still not filibuster-proof. Why did he switch? "Since my election in 1980...the Republican Party has moved far to the right. I now find my political philosophy more in line with Democrats than Republicans."

@chalket: Since you've ignored what I said, and utterly changed the subject, you've proven yourself a "loyal liberal". Good dog, have a biscit...

"Record filibusters" and who's fault is that? It's the oppositions JOB to OPPOSE!
If even 1 or 2 RHINOS were to cross the floor? OR EVEN NOT VOTE (might take 3 in that case) the Filibuster would FAIL outright.
So why doesn't Obama (and Reid) seek those squishy votes? Hummmmm?
You yourself said it: A Repub even crossed PARTIES! But couldn't be convinced to support a Bill?
And ObamaCare WAS PASSED (you ignored my question, here's the answer) with Repub support! Even some Democrat Senators voted NO! Are THEY "out to get" the PotUS TOO?

IT'S A VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY!!!

I'll be you don't even have Clue #1 who said that, or what it refers to, without Google...

chalket: You're selective and deceptive with your 'facts', not unlike HG. If you honestly believe we are doing better than you're deceiving yourself.

Mark my words, this recession is going to get worse and the indicators for the 2nd market collapse are already showing up.

I wish I was wrong about that prediction, America is full of good people still and it weighs on my heart to see them getting hurt. But we didn't learn our lesson the past four years, now we are going to pay and pay hard for re-electing Obama.

Damn, you brainwashed kool-aid swilling kooks are getting annoying.
Crakr: Several of my lies? Link to even ONE. You may disagree, but they ain't lies when I back 'em with facts. It's not my fault you're too propagandized to realize reality.
5Rats: I said "since Bush was in office." How is 2007 NOT when Bush was in office. Yet you try to blame Obama?

"each and every PotUS..." Bull! Please link to a video or news story where ANYONE has ever publicly stated that before. Sure, the opposition always wants to get their way, but never before have they put party before public the way your beloved Tea Party has.
"It's a FACT:" UNPRECEDENTED USE OF FILIBUSTER! Without even having to actually DO a filibuster! Just announce the intention then go home. At least they should have to stand and talk for hours on end, ala Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. And you talk of ME being selective!? You are a joke, just not a very funny one.

Lay-offs have been rampant since Bush was in office...

How... "selective" of you @chalket! You mean since 2007, NOT 2001 which is when Bush took office & featured 40+ months of uninterruped job GROWTH...
But I see your entire world-view is made of "Democrat talking points" and you cannot even be bothered to, you know, think? Answer ANY of my questions? Little things.

#2 Other POTUS haven't had the opposition PUBLICLY SWEAR to block absolutely everything he tried to do.

Oh yes, each and every PotUS has indeed had that! You don't remember the Democrats saying the EXACT same thing for Reagan? Bush? No? How "selective" of you.
It's a FACT: MAJORITIES, BOTH HOUSES! Other PotUS have functioned just fine with OPPOSITION in the House and Senate, but NOT Obama! He has to bribe his own party to get support!
Q: When did the Repubs SUCCESSFULLY filibuster Obamacare...

Baal: I didn't lose anything personally, except some of my faith in America to do the right thing.

Charisma doesn't equal character. Obama is a clown, he was clueless when he stepped into office and he's just as clueless now. He's not a leader, a leader doesn't rely on polls and partisan pundits to tell him what to say or do.

The ballot initiatives were in deep blue states, it's no surprise they won there. As far as healthcare and SS, I'm not aware there were any individual ballot issues involving them at all.

Bsides, You live half-way around the world in a country of monarchs. How's that ballot initiative going to allow muslims to drink alcohol in the UAE?

Oh that's right, no such thing as 'ballot initiatives' there, hell you guys don't even elect your 'president'. So why don't you stick to fixing your own political system before criticizing ours, okay?

Papa John's worried about paying his employees healthcare because it would raise the price of his crappy pizza by $0.15. Anyone who can afford a slew of Superbowl commercials and complains about employee cost is an a-hole who doesn't deserve sympathy. His support of Romney made me boycott his crap. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. I'm especially happy that my vote for Obama pisses idiots like him off.

papajon: Please stay out of this discussion until you learn some logical thinking. Lay-offs have been rampant since Bush was in office, are you just noticing? You expected them to magically stop with his re-election? And you are surprised that his campaign doesn't need as many people anymore? He's not RUNNING ANYMORE! Damn, you are stupid. And all your bitching about Obamacare is based on fear. You don't understand it, so you fear it. Grow up.

Yeah, Obama re-signed the BUllSH.it tax cuts, UNDER GREAT DURESS. Yeah, you forgot that too eh? NY Times: "Republicans announced they would block all legislation in the lame-duck session that followed until all the cuts were extended."

"Obstructionist?"
You answered it: FILIBUSTER! MORE THAN 400 OF THEM!

#1 How many freaking times will you spew that thoroughly-debunked Fox talking point?
Jan '09: 58 Dems in Senate (should have been 59 but Al Franken was contested for 7 months)
April '09: Arlen Specter switched to Dem, making 59.
May '09: Robert Byrd was hospitalized, back to 58.
July '09: Franken finally gets in! Back to 59.
August '09: We lost the great Ted Kennedy. Back to 58.

So, exactly WHEN did we EVER have this mythical supermajority?

#2 Other POTUS haven't had the opposition PUBLICLY SWEAR to block absolutely everything he tried to do.

5Rats: (I can't use your chosen name anymore, I like cats and refuse to insult them like that)

Your typical response: "I know you are, but what am I?" goes well with your adolescent lolz.

"slightest glimmering of knowledge" You mean like you? No thanks. I prefer reality.

In the REAL world, a global recession has little to do with which party is playing house at the time. Thus the disaster was the fault of (drumroll) greedy CEO's who have gamed the economic system in this country for the last 30+ years to the point where they can easily afford to buy our politicians. Still happy you voted for Obama? Over 50 major companies have issued lay-offs since BO was re-elected. The nuber of small business lay-offs is too numerous to mention. Even Forward! Obama layed-off 22 employees today. Just wait till Obamacare kicks in. We'll make Greece look like a nerf gun fight.

And KeyStone.

I love my "lolz"! The z (it's a ZED! Z-e-d ZED!) makes me happy!
Also: It drives @davymid bonkers...
AND: When I've deliberatly cut back on "loling" IABers start saying I'm angry, or simply don't understand that I'm joking!
Sarcasm doesn't do well on the internets... without a smiley face attached!

The Dow "slipping" for 2 days is just one drop of water in the ocean. All of the bullsh*t statistics Romney/Ryan were throwing out there during the campaign came from samples of data from relatively short periods of time to create the illusion that nothing was done or sh*t was worse.

Take Romney's rant at one of the debates on permits to drill for oil. He said Obama approved 50% less permits which is false, there were 35% less. However, he failed to mention that while there were fewer permits approved, actual crude oil production was at a 17 year high in October.

Hey everybody! Wanna see some 5Rats lies?

@chalket: No, in fact THIS is your usual form of "discussion"...

If you had the slightest glimmering of knowledge on the subject, you'd understand that the Democrats took over the House (and Senate? I forget) in 2006.
Thus the disaster wasn't "Obama's Fault" per se, but certainly HIS party's fault. AND Bush's fault for signing those idiotic bills!

And NOTHING Obama has done has helped ONE IOTA!

(Except: Obama RE-singed Bush's tax cuts, twice iirc. You know, the ones he PROMISED to get rid of? Yeah, you forgot that too eh?)

Obstructionist? Again I ask: HOW does a party with NO PotUS, NO House and NO Senate majorities stop ANYTHING? And if you chant "filibuster" I'll smack you!
#1 60 Senate Seats = Busts Fili's!
#2 OTHER PotUS have passed bills without "supermajority", OTHER PotUS can negotiate even with an opposition Majority!

As for your silly links, the first one shows a peak in Dec. '06 then the results of the worst recession in 80 years. D'uh!
The second one shows the same huge drop starting in '08 but it bottoms out at Obama's inauguration with improvement ever since, nearly reaching its peak of '03.
The last one is like the first, the recession hitting hard in '08, then Obama's stimulus seems to have stopped that downward trend.

Now imagine if the obstructionist party of "NO!" would have let a couple more paliative efforts go through, we'd have seen some actual gains and improvements instead of just barely stopping the bleeding. We needed surgery and all the GOP allowed was a band-aid.

"@chalket is just a poo-thrower, never "discusses" anything..." (how the hell do I italicize here?)

There dude, THIS is a discussion. I'd gladly point you to several others (if you insist).
