Recently, there was TSA agent standing at the checkpoint on a Segway. I was so pissed. Your job is to stand there all day, instead taxpayers are now paying for you to stand there all day on a Segway, wtf? |

I bet most of those caught are the people stupid enough to go after high value items like that iPad. A smart guy steals 20 to 50 bucks here and there. Especially on amounts like those 500 dollars they use, just 50 bucks going missing is less likely to be noticed, and less likely to be investigated as heavily by the TSA or the police. Do that to 10 passengers a day and you make 500 dollars extra! |

He's a pretty bad liar, even if I hadn't seen the video of the iPad in his hands his body language gave him away. Blaming his wife was a real douchebag move too, hahaha! I'm surprised only 381 have been caught, I guarantee there are way more that got away with stealing sh*t from people's luggage. |

I have lost electronics/luggage at airports before, and always received them back. Just because some people steal, doesn't mean they all do.
Plus, Turdburglar, have you ever thought that the reason DMV workers are "miserable trolls" is because they have to work with douches like you all day, every day. |

I get that, but that was just this particular incident. He said that the government had already fired 381 workers prior to the report, and that they managed to get through lots of other airports without theft.
I just find these GMA reports to be fluff pieces. It's hardly a thorough investigation. The whole point seems to be to shame the guy who stole the iPad. Not exactly brilliant journalism.
Of course this kind of thing is going to happen. People steal. Check your bags when you get through security. |

I'd have loved to have heard the conversation he had with his wife before coming back out with it.
She either knew he was a thief, and had to take the blame for it in the hope he could carry on stealing at work.
or she was oblivious to it and he had to go in there and tell her he was a thief and then after dropping that bombshell on her, ask her to take the blame for it too.
it's drated up either way. |

All businesses have to provide a decent level of customer service to stay in business...Except for govt businesses, they have a monopoly. Government workers are miserable trolls, and the worst of them work at the DMV. |

I thin the point of "Brian's Reporting" is to expose the integrity ambiguity in a profession where integrity and trust is crucial to civil support.
I can't imagine how better to expose the failure of a security check point than to catch them stealing from us considering how difficult it is to prove it.
I support this and dash cams when dealing with police in your car.

If it was private company providing the service, the employee in question would actually be sued in court. The company's reputation would be in jeopardy. They wouldn't, despite repeated failures, start up new ass-crazy ventures like VIPR teams. They wouldn't with their long history of sustained underperformance continue to operate.
But alas it is a GOVT AGENCY! |
