Both my children were terribly isolated by Autism .The Highlight of my life was seeing my children when they were toddlers interact in a warm,friendly and engaging way with "Furries". Inspired I bought a pair of teddy ears and a bunch of animal puppets to engage and communicate with my children. It was like finding a key to the magic door into their world ! I bought a dog and cat too but I have to say nothing worked quite like the "Furries". I was able to teach them so much this way and Furries inspired them to speak and show love and best of all HUG !. I cried when I watched this film because of the beautiful and treasured memories. My son who did not talk till he was 6 first told a giant rabbit he loved him and then said "and I love you too mummy". |

The internet taught me to intrinsically hate all that furpoop. Then i made friends with some of them and to be honest, its only a small minority that are f-ed up. Those fursuits still creep the bejeebers out of me. |

As children, we're constantly surrounded by anthropomorphic characters from cartoons to toys and advertisements. Think of every cartoon you ever watched as a child that featured some kind of human with animal characteristics or talking animals with human characteristics. The list is endless. And the same is still apparent today. We're saturated with that stuff as kids, so it only makes sense that some people keep that part of them alive after growing up. It's obviously not for everyone, but if something so simple can make a child's day, that's all that matters. |

I'm torn. On the one hand they could be creepy pervs.
On the other hand, sad childless people can experience a little of the joy of children in public & safe way. Not everyone who loves kids is a Sanduski or a Michael Jackson. |

No, but I'd be REALLY careful with my kid around anyone dressed up as anything in a park full of kids. Even if it was Spiderman, going to the park, hanging out with the kids, and giving out business cards to do parties. Perfectly legit reason to do that kind of thing, but I'd keep a good eye on them and my kid. |

I'm not a furry, and I can't imagine how someone can step into a suit like that and not feel ridiculous, but whatever--if they enjoy it, more power to them.
