How is this new or interesting. They've been using needle-less injectors such as this for at least 30 to 40 years.

And it's not the penetration of the skin that hurts, but the penetration of the muscle tissue. A mosquito's thingie doesn't penetrate that far.

What is up with all the 2-star reviews? Does I-A-B's academic capacity really suffer so greatly? Attention spans waning in the absence of a flashy intro and sexy nurse poised for delivery? Does her device not pulsate with the intensity required to stimulate an involuntary response of the erogenous nature? Hmm? Hmm?? HMMMM????

@Ilikelogic 1MPa is also standard atmospheric pressure (1atm), if you're interested.

As for the video, these have been around for ages. I guess that they haven't been used much because they're expensive, but that's just conjecture.

100 Megapascal =1000 bar (=15000 psi)
This is a typical pressure used for waterjet cutting, so it will definitely work.

I vaguely remember a drug delivery tech very like this one. They pulled in like a hundred million in funding then had trouble getting independent labs to prove they could deliver the exact dosage. That's a biiiiiig problem, as doctors don't prescribe drugs in random quantities.

I have been using this type of thing for about a year now, I have a migraine med called "Sumavel Dosepro" that uses air pressure to send the medicine into my skin. It goes into my stomach, hurts like hell, leaves a welt/bruise, and costs an arm and a leg....but it is the only thing that gets rid of my migraines in one shot :) Without insurance though, it can run $1200.00 for four "shots" http://www.sumaveldosepro.com/

Interesting. Interesting. And how much less does this cost than a syringe?

This is taking the jet injector to the next level though. It's like going from a Model A Ford to a Shelby Cobra.

As far as the transporter goes, that will take an understanding of physics and a level of technology that we probably won't see in our lifetime.
