Saturday, April 14, 2012 5:07:12 AM Irresponsible rubbish. Losing weight is simple. Eat less, exercise more. Anyone who says this doesn't work is ignoring the simple truth. By the way, I lost 2.5 stone (35lb) this way. Yes it's hard, and it takes longer than you expect, but it works. |

Friday, April 13, 2012 6:15:33 AM This is obscenely irresponsible. Most of these alternate explanations can easily be refuted. There's so much false information out there about obesity. |

Thursday, April 12, 2012 4:11:53 PM I agree with Baelzar, though, the SciShow vids aren't that great. When it started I got the impression that it was just gonna give a vague summary of different concepts to help people understand them or just talk about cool scientific discoveries but this kinda semi-factual 'here's some studies that all happen to support the point of this video' stuff isn't as interesting. I much prefer it when Hank and John are just talking/being themselves, not trying to teach us something. Lost interest in the SciShow/CrashCourse vids a while back, I'd rather read a textbook or research something myself if i'm that interested. |

Thursday, April 12, 2012 4:02:39 PM HAH! Hank Green, a hipster? Really? You have obviously never watched Vlogbrothers, or hankgames. Hank and John Green are two of the nerdiest guys on YouTube. They don't have nearly enough arrogance to be hipsters. |

Thursday, April 12, 2012 3:35:36 PM Also fnp91, if you are actually a personal trainer, talk to some of your peers about how long they train their clients. IMO, unless they're training for some kind of sports or athletic event, more than an hour is excessive. |

Thursday, April 12, 2012 2:32:50 PM Thank you, Beauxner, for saying what I would have said. fnp90, I presume physics, or just any sort of science class in general, isn't a prerequisite for becoming a personal trainer? |

Thursday, April 12, 2012 1:17:24 PM Jesus, what a mess this video was. Correlation does not equal causation. Look, if you want to have your eyes opened, read anything by Drs. Michael and Mary Eades. If you want to find an easy path, read The 4 Hour Body by Tim Ferriss. |

Thursday, April 12, 2012 11:55:28 AM lol leesah, from the looks of you I doubt you can pay attention for longer than 1:30. Unless it's a children's cartoon apparently. |

Thursday, April 12, 2012 11:48:18 AM @fnp90 - I'm quoting from the third edition of the NASM Essentials of Personal Fitness Training certification manual (pg 182, Memory Jogger). "The Law of Thermodynamics becomes a very important teaching anchor for the health and fitness professional, particularly when working with a weight loss client. The only way (outside of surgery) one will lose weight or body fat is if one consumes less calories (food and drink) than one expends (activity). If an individual is exercising, but not losing weight, he or she is somehow, some way consuming more calories than he or she is expending. |

Thursday, April 12, 2012 11:34:12 AM I love these "calorie in-calorie out, just work out" simpletons. These are also the mouth breathers that evidently didn't watch the video, or have done no research into the topic. As a personal trainer (yes this makes me somewhat of a hypocrite), I can assure you there are those individuals that will put in hours daily into exercise, and eat a healthy diet, and will show NO progress whatsoever. The indisputable fact is that, for most, diet and exercise are successful. However, to assume that it is the only simple answer to the problem evinces ignorance. |

Thursday, April 12, 2012 11:24:55 AM "I got like a minute thirty in and assumed the rest was equally as bad." That explains why you thought the whole video was about the obvious causes of obesity, when it wasn't. |
