Friday, December 16, 2011 2:40:52 PM --There's no such thing as "crony capitalism." It's an oxymoron line "promiscuous virginity."-- I believe that would be called a "tease." Trust me... it's very, very possible. |

Friday, December 16, 2011 10:33:23 AM This was the message of the tea party. Main stream media picks the craziest people out of the protests and slaps that label on them. Tea Partiers are against OWS, OWS against Tea partiers. THEY ARE SAYING THE SAME THING! (except the lowlife handout seekers in OWS. I'm hoping they are the exception to the rule.) |

The US Supreme court is hearing a case regarding a Corporation and if it can be held accountable for torture and murder. Corporations can't be liable for human rights violations, only people can. But Corporations are people so . . . that'll be interesting. 5Cats, seems that corporation murdered anti-oil protestors. So much for "corporations won't kill" |

Thursday, December 15, 2011 9:32:57 AM @5Cats well, now you have just proven to me that you know absolutely JACK about what you're talking about. corporations were "people" from day one? WRONG. in the late 19th century we added the 14th amendment to the constitution (look it up if you wanna know which it is) and from there corporations spent years in court cases gaining their "people" rights by abusing an amendment that was never meant for them. try again, adolf. |

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 7:37:49 PM Protester: "DOWN WITH CORPORATE GREED" Me: "Okay, what's your solution?" Protester: "Well, um... DOWN WITH CORPORATE GREED!" There's an old saying, "You don't have to be a chicken to know a bad egg". I don't have to be a political expert with all the answers to know there's a problem with our government. THEY are the experts and were entrusted to make sure we never reached the point we are at. I think the solution starts with a constitutional amendment that only private individuals may donate or fund-raise for political candidates. Take corporations out of politics! Corporations are NOT people. |

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 4:32:46 PM The media has no intent on conveying the message of corporate wealth in elections and politics because themselves, the media, sells a pretty dollar in political advertisements. Local stations even upgrade equipment in sync with election money. |

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 4:01:17 PM There's only one reason that corporations have fought for decades to be considered people... So sorry @chrn368: Corporations are Constitutionally "people" from day 1. It's "Citizens United" who are trying to TAKE AWAY their existing rights. Facts, aquaint yourself with them. @ProfWorm & @OnOff: For sure! And HIGHER TAXES and MORE restrictions and BIGGER Governement will stop outsourcing in it's tracks! Why, everyone who left the USA for cheaper tax rates will come running back when the rates go UP!!! Numbskullz... Ok, the first part of my 'arguement' wasn't very effective. How about the second part: If the SCotUS HAD allowed the limitation, what would that mean? It would mean that the US Government has the right to decide WHO IS and WHO IS NOT allowed to buy political ads. You'd prefer that? How about THAT, eh? |

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 3:21:39 PM "Protester: "DOWN WITH CORPORATE GREED" Me: "Okay, what's your solution?" Protester: "Well, um... DOWN WITH CORPORATE GREED!"" Wow what a completely ignorant little scenerio here. Not all protests start with a plan. You dont have to know how to fix it to not like the current situation. You protest in hopes that someone out there can come up with a better way to do things that are already done. |

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 12:37:19 PM Ostensibly, this seems like a legitimate complaint about crony capitalism but something tells me that this guy isn't for regular capitalism either... There's no such thing as "crony capitalism." It's an oxymoron line "promiscuous virginity." You can have cronyism, or you can have capitalism, but you can't have both at the same time. Cronyism is a product of government, not corporations. Bribery is a word that liberals use to describe government extortion.

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 7:00:37 AM Illiterate moron. What he's actually describing (for the most part) is part statism, part corruption. But no matter how you define it, it's all Obama. Go protest at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. -- that's where your problems were created. |

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 2:26:16 AM Also, anyone claiming og after the politicians is only attacking half the problem. Let's say you get rid of all the politicians, what's to stop the corporations from bribing the next batch? We need to clean house, completely and the only way to do that is to identify the politicans in lobbyist pockets, get rid of them, then make the entire system utterly and completely transparent and pass regulation making it so corporations can't bribe the politicans. That's what OWS is protesting, and that's why every person in this country should be supporting them, because it IS happening. Anyone who thinks otherwise has their head in the sand and they need to wake up before the hammer falls on you, which it will, eventually. Unless you're one of those coporate executives or politicians of course :) |

Wednesday, December 14, 2011 2:22:08 AM There's only one reason that corporations have fought for decades to be considered people, and that's so the people running them can avoid legal liability when something goes wrong or they do something to illegal screw over thousands of people. |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 11:45:12 PM Prof: That's actually what OWS is about. The top dogs decide that they want to get richer, so, they outsource the labor. Rather than take a cut from their incredible pay and bonuses. Then the laid off employees get unemployment pay, retraining, food stamps, foreclosure and bankruptcy. All paid for by the working people. Just so the rich can get richer. How much expensive food can a person eat, how many clothes can they wear, how many cars can they drive, how many houses can they live in, how many children can they have, how many vacations can they take, etc. Laws won't fix it. Some people have broken value systems. They are ignorant and are found to be wanting. Maybe they will form a nice clique when they get to hell. |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 10:17:09 PM I always love the 'Get a job!' comments. My roommate has a job. For 4 more months. Then the job that he and 600 other people had will be in a brand new mill set up in Brazil. That's not 600 jobs just traded to other people in the US, that's 600 good jobs that are simply gone. That's not what the occupy protests are about, of course, but I think most of us can agree that both sides of the isle have enabled this kind of poo for too long. |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 8:50:59 PM And YET: a corporation will never: shoot you with a gun sleep with your spouse pee in your flower garden vote Let me be clear about this. It is *absolutely* hilarious to see someone who is willingly ignorant about something acting to their own detriment. At least you're getting an afterlife out of your religion thing. |

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 5:14:05 PM Inspired by, but not limited to SCfan...I'm always amazed when someone speaks up to say "Nobody cares". It's like saying you don't care what people think...the very fact you're making the statement proves your statement false. |
