@evanbartlett: Dude, if anyone out there deserves a blow job it's you. ^_^
On a side note I hate monkeys with a burning passion, but even I wouldn't want to see them forced into animal testing. >_<

i don't have a problem with animal experiments. I think all the animals that molest children, rape, and murder should be used to test medicine, it is a wonder idea!

I'm still fine with animal research. Like the other post said, it increased our lifespans about 20 years, so if you want to knock yourself off at 60 to prove your devotion to your anti-animal testing cause, go right ahead.

1)I don't trust Teutons.
2)I don't trust Apes.

I don't speak German, but it seems to me that "proof" of how "happy" these apes are is a scene shown three times where the monkeys seem to hug each other while music that didn't quite make the cut to be in either Jerry Mcguire or The Notebook plays in the background.
While I know that apes are very intelligent(for animals), I question how "happy" this whole project has made them. I think humans have a very bad habit of giving anthropomorphic traits and qualities to animals.
I think while up to a certain point, it's important to protect species from extinction, we tend to make choices of which animals we help in a very emotive way. For example look at the campaigns to save dolphins from tuna nets. Dolphins are abundant, but we save them because it looks like they are smiling and because of shows like flipper. Technically, tunas are being overfished, so you should be trying to save them, I

They've been in research laboratories their whole lives (some since birth, some since they were babies). They were taken over by someone in Austria. Now after being prepared for it gradually they are let out for the first time.

I don't know what that had to do with animal testing, but the answer is "yes, yes I am."

If the experiments done lead to new cancer or hiv or alzheimers medications, the Yes, I'm very happy about it. And it's good to give them a nice habitat when they're retired. Not because it makes them happy, but because it keeps us human to reward them for their service.

Yes, I'm still happy with animal experimentation. Granted it's not ideal, but it saves countless human lives, something far more important in my view.

For the first time in their life, they see the sunlight. they were locked in 30 years and then the door opens and then can exit the cage. they just saw humans in suits like astronauts have them. most of them never learned to climb, because they spent their whole life in there. since 2002 they can spend their life in freedom in Gänserndorf in Austria. One of them was born in the jungle and she finally sees the sunlight again after a long time, for the others it is the first time they ever saw the sunlight.
