"Why does the phrase "Christian Extremist" get all the attention? "

Maybe because the word Christian is found 2247 times in his manifesto.

Why does the phrase "Christian Extremist" get all the attention? Not that I'm claiming there's no such thing, but it seems to be more relevent that this guiy was a conservative psychopath who felt mass slaughter was justified because he didn't like the immigration policies of the democracy he lived in.

"Christian extremist?" Maybe. "Rightwing lunatic?" Definitely.

"Thaaaaaaaaaat being said I was surprised at how good-looking this terrorist was."

I'm not going to pretend that I didn't either. At the same time though I thought is this Trey Parker?

I guess it's also important to know the difference between "Christian" and "Right-Wing". "Christian" refers to the religion, while "Right-Wing" is a political scale. While both involve world views, they are independant things and do not determine each other.

Christian believes in the Bible. Right-wing believes things should go back to the way they were.

Thaaaaaaaaaat being said I was surprised at how good-looking this terrorist was.

markust: The difference is in what is being preached, Christians don't preach violence - Romans 12:19, Matthew 5:39, and many others say not too.

Many mosques around the world preach violence, vengeance and hate, and those raised in that ideology have committed hundreds of terrorist actions, A lunatic Christian commits one and all the crooked fingers come pointing out from liberal hands.

I don't understand why you guys manage to discuss religion on here. This had nothing to do with religiosity, but rather, nationalism and multiculturalism, illusion of grandeur, sociopathy, and what he labeled cultural marxism.

@ChrisMunich: I'm basing what I've said over observation. I see more violent acts perpetrated by muslims than christians, recently. Want to test my theory? Burn a bible and put the video on youtube. I'd wager that at most you get a few death threats from some of the more extreme christians. Now go burn the koran, and put that video up. You or someone else in the world will die because of your video. If you disagree, feel free to give it a shot.

@markust: I'm an atheist. God doesn't actually exist, as far as I'm concerned. It makes these heinous acts of violence all the more perplexing.

The weather has only gone over 80 degrees in Seattle for 79 minutes this year. We're hitting 80 today. I'm heading out to go boating with my FB.

Sorry for being such a dick on religion. Just trying to point out how ridiculous Christians behave towards Muslims.

He wasn't a christian... He was just a guy who hated Muslims.

"Isolated incident of hate perpetrated by an insane man vs. global incidents of hate perpetrated by an insane religion."

Christianity is as "insane" as you put it as the Muslim religion. For every extreme passage in the Koran there is an equally extreme passage in the bible. "But but but Christ dying for our sins voids out those archaic rules" Right. Both books can steer people to do horrific acts. Both books can easily be used for evil. How is that the word of God?

@Reignblazer: Sry i barked at you like that.
But this monstrues action has left my brain in turmoil since it happened.

I was angry because what had happened.
The way he got ahold of his guns in norway where trough proper channels(Police and gunclubs), and as a avid sportshooter myself, my thoughts went from shock to fear, of loosing my favorite hobby because of this.

It is a horrible thing that has happened, and i wish there was a way to undo it. theese youths and theyre families where in no way desrving of it.

Isolated incident of hate perpetrated by an insane man vs. global incidents of hate perpetrated by an insane religion.

Give your average Christian or Atheist a nuke and they'll likely try to find a way to turn it back in to the proper authorities.

Give your average Muslim a nuke and they'll likely try to find a way to send it to DC.

I was in central oslo during the bombing. Never thought I had to experience something like that in my lifetime. A sad day for my country..

@goaliejerry: Please explain why killing him would be better than getting him alive? I'm glad they got him alive. If they had shot him, too many questions would've remained unanswered.. he would have died a martyr for the few, and an untouchable monster for millions of people around the world.

Death is not a punishment for people ready to become martyrs. Keeping them alive is.. to show them that their deeds failed miserably in what they tried to accomplish.

And I'm certain that, in spite of what Faux News might insinuate, he will never see freedom again. Whereas we must fight harder than ever to protect ours. Our democracy, our freedom and our open society.

If the first thing we do is kill the man who try to rob us from it, just because we can and not because we have to.. then he would've tasted victory before we

Far right conservatives tend to associate terrorists with the muslim religion yet when a nut job like this turns out to be a right wing Christian fundamentalist the cry goes out not to associate the act with religion. Hypocrites. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged.

@goaliejerry: Really? Really Really? An american trying to teach us about guns, nutjobs, immigration policies and homocides? at least have the decency to look up the statistics before you go on your "usausausa" rant.

goaliejerry: Extremist Christian anti-Islamist anti-immigration nutjob right-winger gunman . . . why does this seem vaguely familiar?

Sorry CrakrJak, I couldn't resist...

Excuse me ? Are you really comparing me to that terrorist ? I sure the hell hope you aren't, not even in a joking manner, If so you are truly a horrible libeler.

I'm thinking this could very well be the work of another country trying to scare Norway out of drilling in the Artic circle for oil. Because at this very moment Canada, the US, Russia and Norway are all claiming ownership of the artic circle and there is this huge political sqawl for the oil there. The part that is often overlooked in this story is that the bomb also hit the Norwegian Ministry of Oil. Rember this is a theory i created because calling him a Right Wing nut is just an oversimplification of his motives.

Right off the bat I'd like to send my sincerest condolencences to the families and people of Norway. I can't say i know the guys motive but this is very similar to when a group of Georgian rebels attacked a Russian school killing all the students to prove a political point of independance. There is no better fear tactic then attacking children. This bomb was very sophisticated i would not doubt that he had outside aid for his mission.

He's not even afraid of losing his life - if I'm not mistaken, they have no death penalty - he will be in prison forever.
