Monday, May 16, 2011 4:04:21 AM NO PERSON SHOULD BE SENTENCED TO LIFE FOR SUCH CRIME! WoW...REALLY LOUISIANA? IS THIS the kind of CRIMINAL that you want YOUR HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS PAYING TO HOUSE ON A LIFE SENTENCE? Or WOULD YOU RATHER PAY TO PUT PEDOFILES, RAPISTS, MURDERS in PRISON on a LIFE SENTENCE? |

Friday, May 13, 2011 4:46:29 PM @randomxnp Part 3: Now consider the fact that we produce this mind expanding chemical while we are at rest. resting helps us be healthy and recover from injury and such. so that tells me that it is healthy to seperate your concious (or unconcious a.k.a. sleeping) mind from the physical self. that being said, consider the idea that use of THC, a much weaker and sutle mind altering chemical than DMT, is a tiny step towards mental health, in the sense that it will seperate you from your emotions towards or issues and allow you to think logically and effectively without your emotions clouding your judgement and encumbering your comprehension process. sometimes being ALERT makes you blind, leaves you within the boundaries of what's physical and deems anything beyond that as nonexistent. That can't be healthy. YOUR MIND HAS BEEN BLOWN!!! |

Friday, May 13, 2011 4:41:31 PM @randomxnp Part 2: As for whether or not it causes mental issues is much more debatable, but perhaps your viewpoint can be swayed by considering that we all NEED sleep to live. A human will die from sleep depravation well before they die of hunger, less than a week I believe. During our sleep, approximately every 40 minutes we go into R.E.M. (Rapid Eye Movement) sleep. During R.E.M. is when we have our most intense dreams. These dreams are NEVER remembered because the memory is rejected by our brain due to the intensity of the dream. The reason for this is that during R.E.M. our brain is producing a chemical called D.M.T (look up the scientific name), a psychadelic that makes these dreams appear as shapes and colors we've never experienced and the such. Now, EVERY living thing produces some amount of DMT. Also our brains produce mass amount at birth and at death. This is where speculation comes in. They way I see it, DMT is the souls gateway to and from the body. |

Friday, May 13, 2011 4:33:47 PM @randomxnp: the chemical agent that is the desirable part of marijuana, Tetrahydrocannabinol, is not in anyway, especially mentally, harmful to people. The carcinogens in smoking the plant are what can be potentially harmful. That said, you can get the same harmful carcinogens from a well cooked or burnt steak from your grill, and probably close to ten times more from tobacco cigarettes. All this can be avoided through different methods of consumption of the THC, i.e., a vaporizer. A tool that instead of burning the plant, heats it just enough for the sticky THC content to liquify, and then vaporize. Nothing is burned, no smoke is produced, no carcinogens are inhaled. |

Friday, May 13, 2011 3:40:16 PM sbeelz You have a sound argument, but ruin it by adding a falsehood. That marijuana harms many users is beyond reasonable dispute. It drastically increases levels of mental illness for just the start. That is not a conclusive argument for prohibition however, much less a justification for such a ridiculous punishment. Therein lies your case, don't claim no-one is harmed when that is clearly not true! |

Wednesday, May 11, 2011 8:43:03 PM "Here is an idea - Don't do the crime!" What nonsense. This argument totally disregards the fact that the punishment is TOTALLY out of proportion to the crime. You know, considering nobody who argues for prohibition of marijuana can come up with a cohesive explanation for how marijuana actually harms anybody, and life imprisonment clearly will cause a great deal of harm to this man and everyone who loves him. |

Wednesday, May 11, 2011 12:59:42 PM @PierreJeanFR Kinda bothers me when some one from France assumes I must be an ass hole because of where I'm from considering I grew up speaking French and my dad was born there.

Tuesday, May 10, 2011 10:56:46 PM If you get arrested three times for the same thing, and then you know you could go to jail for life if you get caught again, and still don't stop, you deserve it. |
