the phantom, you forgot to mention that they were originally on the radio. because there was no visual of the products they would say the name over, and over, and over again. |

the_phantom is correct, Soap operas were originally infomercials which evolved into what they are today.

I don't know if the other networks are doing it, but I've seen NBC do the same thing on other shows, most noticably on Biggest Loser for gum, cereal and oatmeal. |

you are aware that soap operas were made wth the intention of promoting products right? thats why theyre caled SOAP operas, they originally were sponsored by soap companies to promote them during the show.
