ok, and what happens when the earth is full? the best and most logical reasoning i've ever heard when it comes to the genetics/choice debate, is that it is displayed not only in humans, but in all species across the globe. so i guess all those animals are just choosing wrong huh?Here is an article describing homosexual behavior in a variety of animals

The answer is so simple.. He didn't. He created Adam and Eve and told them to fill the earth (make lots of babies). (Gen 1:28) Sadly, they sinned before any children were born, so we inherited the sin through Adam/Eve.
Think of it like a dented cake pan: All cakes made using that pan will be dented. Same with us: We all inherited a dent from our parents, which is the dent is sin.
And you are not suppose to hate anybody. Love not only your neighbor, but enemy. (Matthew 5:44) It's wrong to judge anybody because it's not our place to do so (Matthew 7:1,2) but will be Jesus place. (Matthew 25:32)

I'm elated that this has happened. I wish I could shake that man's hand. I'm not a Christian, and this gives me hope that Christians are not going to destroy the world, as I have predicted.
Just a question: Why would a just God create gay people then demand his followers to hate them? Something just doesn't seem right about that.
One more: Why do the same people who insist that a man and woman be married to love each other, refuse to let a gay couple marry, no matter how much they love each other?
I have no agenda. I really just wonder at these things. |

Angilion: Yes, absolutely. I've gotten that assumption from both men and women. "Not like us" is definitely a good way to put it. People are scared of what's different and what they don't understand.

DixxyRarr, do you get the assumption that you're not going to be faithful in a monogamous relationship? I get that one quite often. It seems common to think that bisexual people can't be monogamous because they're going to going out with or at least having sex with at least 1 man and 1 woman at any given time.
I think in general it comes down to the age old "not like us" thing, with bisexuals being "not like us" to both homosexuals and heterosexuals. Hence my comment about being shunned more. Except for bisexual women in some circumstances, circumstances which you succinctly summed up as "thinks my personal life with my girlfriend is right out of a porno." Sexual appeal trumps "not like us". |

Indeed. There are no end of things in the OT that are also described as to'ebah or otherwise forbidden. Mixing meat and dairy. Shaving. Cutting your hair. Wearing clothes of two materials. etc, etc. 613 rules...why only pay attention to 1 of them?
Haven't you heard? Jesus made a New Covenant when he died for our sins. Which for some reason applies to everything except homosexuality. |

I also think that some people forget that we are not all looking at the world through the same eyes. Sometimes it's hard to imagine that every single person has a different and complex view on life, love and sexuality.
When people question my 'gayness', sometimes I get offended... but what I SHOULD do is try to keep in mind that they are only trying to understand me. And that's okay. Finding out what makes somebody 'tick' helps people find common ground and compassion in each other. |

I find that people who tell others how to live their sex lives tend to think themselves as great lovers... but then I always find out their relationships suck.
When people try to tell me stuff like this I shut them down immediately. You seem the type that would do the same.

This is an interesting concept. As a completely 'out' bisexual woman who has dated both men and women... I have seen the two most common stereotypes over and over: the straight guy who thinks that my personal life with my girlfriend is right out of a porno. And then the lesbian who hates bisexual women because they are dramatic and slutty.
And then there's the people who think that I should just make up my mind already, or that I'm just looking for attention... or that it's just a phase, etc etc.

@Pmarren: Well, I think a lot of people do care and have a right to know. A mega church has thousands of members all who give money and time to the congregation. They have a right to know what sort of man is running the organization they subscribe to. Much like stock shareholders have a right to know what sort of person the CEO of Microsoft is. Etc. |
