Monday, June 28, 2010 9:49:15 PM Hmm, I find it interesting that the poster called it the "iPhone G4" and then went on to have Apple say "We're not wrong, you are" It seems to me calling the new iPhone G4 is very wrong... |

Monday, June 28, 2010 2:03:24 PM If I had a site where I posted something funny or original, I would rather the traffic be linked to me than have someone else making ad revenue off of it by copying and pasting. |

Sunday, June 27, 2010 11:52:21 PM Also why are we discussing this? Ah, I see, yes, god should be God. Or it should be "a god". Currently it is wrong. |

Sunday, June 27, 2010 11:48:12 PM A post about Apple fanboys being dicks ---> The existentialism of God? Only on IAB. I love it. But yeah, it should be capitalized. We always spell it "Gandalf" after all, not "gandalf". |

Sunday, June 27, 2010 11:38:16 PM Actually prejudiced, he's right. "I think that god" could refer to any god. "I think that God" capitalized, refers to the Abrahamic God. It is capitalized, because it is a name. And, again, Allah, is used by Arab Christians, to say God. God, is used by English speaking Muslims, to mean Allah. It is interchangeable because it is the same. I use "Burt Reynolds" when I talk about "Burt Reynolds". When I say "Burt Reynolds is 74", nobody says "When you say Burt Reynolds, do you mean the Burt Reynolds before or after he did Boogie Nights? Which one of them is 74?" Allah is God is YHWH. You can argue that he did or didn't do something (Whether Michael Jackson did/didn't do anything appropriate is the debate, not whether he is or isn't Michael Jackson anymore), but arguing they are different entities is a falsity. Unless talking about fictional characters. |

Sunday, June 27, 2010 10:21:46 PM "If there is not a "the" or "a" in front of "God", it is referring to the god of Christianity" Not for certain. You can assume it is referring to the Christian "God", or you can assume it is being used in the same context as one would use deity, though I don't know how correct that would be? Either way, the way I read it is as a nod to any possible deity. I know Muslims who refer to Allah as god, amongst other people who also refer the same way to their religious figurehead. It's subjective I suppose. |

Sunday, June 27, 2010 10:17:37 PM Ollie, actually I think Buddha is a title, not a religious deity? As in "the Buddha", just like someone would say "the Queen"? I'm pretty sure Buddha was never considered a god? |

Sunday, June 27, 2010 9:57:21 PM "Apple fanboys are atheists" Really? I know quite a few hardcore Christians who regard Mr. Jobs like a saint... "God is not a direct name" If there is not a "the" or "a" in front of "God", it is referring to the god of Christianity, and thus should be capitalized as a proper noun just as you would capitalize Allah or Zeus. Personally I like to use "deity" in lieu of all other words for a mythological being because you don't need to worry about gratuities or being grammatically correct :) |

Sunday, June 27, 2010 9:18:55 PM Somewhere there's an Apple fanboy who would actually do this. Regarding capitalization of the name of the deity, when referring to "a god," it is not capitalized. When referring to an entity named "God" (or "Allah," or "Vishnu," or "Buddah," or "Bal"), it is capitalized. That's not based on PC or religious beliefs; that's just proper English for writing proper names, just as you would "Morty" or "Gertrude." |

Sunday, June 27, 2010 9:12:10 PM "God is not a direct name" no, God is the name of the creator for christians, he is one in the same with Allah, but christians identify him as God. so, just as Jesus, and other people get capitalized, so does God. The Bible is also capitalized for its a book title, it should also be underlined but I don't know how to do that on IAB |

Sunday, June 27, 2010 7:33:26 PM God is not a direct name, it is a noun defined as "A great higher being, thought to be a 'creator' or omnipotent overseer." therefore is NOT necessary to be capitalized, though its considered PC to do so because the uber Christians will throw a fit if you don't.... |

Sunday, June 27, 2010 7:09:28 PM "God should be capitalized." god should be erased from all knowledge. |
