Sunday, December 20, 2009 1:47:59 PM The salvation army looks after its captains, majors etc. very well. Not the greatest run outfit. The Army has helped me out a few times but let me down more. Damn Christians. |

Saturday, December 19, 2009 1:05:33 AM wow. lotsa bitter people out there. Admittedly, the Salvation Army are Christian, but they aren't exactly a cult and they are probably doing more to collect money for homeless and poor people.Saying "xtian prostlytizing" is like saying the Vietnam Vets collecting good is "Military Prostlytizing". It's doing a lot better than a lot of groups out there in helping actual people and I've donated little amounts 3x over this season and I never was told "God Bless you" or any of that stuff that gets to me that they used to do in previous years. I figure if the heart is in the right place and the execution of it isn't in the wrong place, and they truly help people, I'm cool with it. What you should watch out for are the stands in from of stores that are doing "charity drives" for companies like DARE or Operation Smile. 5% actually goes to the companies and the toys you "donate" go back into a warehouse. THAT is a scam. |

Friday, December 18, 2009 12:53:18 PM @StarDagger: I completely agree they should be Faith Neutral... charities that are religious are basically buying converts. BUT:"Jeebus didnt ask for people to listen to some sermon before he did his party tricks with the bread and fish." Actually that's exactly what happened... he was giving a sermon as he was handing out fish and bread. He was always giving sermons. But that's irrelevant, I agree with your point. |

Friday, December 18, 2009 10:45:14 AM Salvation Army does good in giving out food, but is evil in their Xian proselytizing. They should do the same thing but be Faith neutral, then I would be impressed. Jeebus didnt ask for people to listen to some sermon before he did his party tricks with the bread and fish.

Friday, December 18, 2009 10:14:50 AM Epic Win! The huge smile on the real bellringer's face at 1:09 is priceless! I also LoLed at him still jingling his tiny bells. I hope they did this about 20 times, at different locations, it's really cool. |

Friday, December 18, 2009 8:40:46 AM Is it strange that an ad popped up about getting a "counterterrorism degree"? I don't even think they exist. |
