The EEC is now known as the EU. Britain is a member of the EU making it a part of Europe - fact.LandoGriffin & Angilion: Don't go splitting hairs. I am aware the official discovery of America is upto debate. But one things is for sure, the biggest body of people to colonise/settle America are european. Resulting in place names like New York, Boston, Maryland, new hampshire, virginia, north and south carolina etc. All Americans (bar native Americans obviously, just stating that in case someone tries to be a smart arse) are descendants of european settlers. I am not here for an argument, I'm just here to say it like it is. Without Europe there wouldn't be an America - so we shoudln't complain! :) |

Angillon, it's cause we're so laid back. Unlike Americans, rather than complain about our political system whenever the chance comes up, we get on with life. In all honesty, our government isn't that bad, neither is the USA's, we just don't moan about it. |

the dumbest things about this video are the comments below from british people claiming they aren't really part of europe .. what do you even mean by this? you're part of europe geographically and you're part of the eu so you're part of it politically too ... in what way is britain not part of europe, can someone explain? |

Also pertinant - is Britain part of Europe? I know we're being forced into it politically(*), but we're not really in it in any other way. The lack of Europeans in this video is probably a language thing. 3. Europeans shouldn't really complain about Americans - after all who discovered America and settled there in the first place?
Nobody knows. It happened at least 15,000 years ago, maybe as much as 50,000 years ago. Too long, anyway. * I noticed the debate just put up on the USA healthcare reforms. Anyone care for one on the Lisbon treaty and/or the way the UK has been forced into it without any voting regarding it at all? England is one of the oldest democracies in the world and we now have an unelected UK leader making us subordinate to an unelected European leader...and hardly anyone cares. |
