OH MY FRAKING ALLAH! That exact picture is hanging right next to the first story elevator at the hospital I do my clinical rotations at (Florida hospital in orlando). It's funny because I actually got in trouble for making fun of it. |

The irony is that if anyone is dealt a losing hand, and something just happens to go right, at least partially, it's a 'miracle'; the whole horrible incident is forgiven. (Am I expressing this correctly? I'm not talking about anyone in particular.)
Davy, I feel for you. I have lost several family members to cancer. It's a horrible feeling to know that someone you love is on a timeline of sorts.

No argument from me there Britt. Many people believe in a Higher Power, and I respect that. For me, that higher power is called science, or at least that part of science we haven't figured out yet. Like Overmann, I have no beef with people's individual beliefs. That's their own business. But when religion starts taking credit for the work of surgeons, some of the smartest humans that we've evolved (yes, I used that dirty word), then I get pissed off. True story time (really, I'm not trying to score points here, this is real and live). Earlier tonight, my Aunt went under the scalpel for cancer. Surgeons closed her back up. There was nothing they could do for her, she's got 2 months to live, so say the Docs. If God exists, I'm giving him a big f*cking middle finger right now, cause he's a toying, jealous, fame-seeking, manipulating c*nt. God, if you're there, suck the back side of my balls. |

If a person is going to do something specifically because ANYTHING told them to do something from INSIDE their head, they should ask themselves, "am I f*cking crazy?". Because that's what you call a person who needs to be sent to the loony bin.... It doesn't matter WHO you think is telling you to do something. If it's coming from inside your head, think again.... Now, if you think god is going to ask you to kill your children and you don't think it's wrong then your CRAZY and F*CKED UP.

From my Christian childhood, one of the most oft-told fables of the virtues of Christianity was where God told Abraham to kill his son. Human sacrifice. Overmann, a person should be able to know if something is wrong or not. With or without god telling them to do something... A person should be able to decide for themself what to do in situations or at any time at all.
