Wednesday, October 07, 2009 2:30:43 AM PS, I can't agree with you about Punk, OldOllie. I love Bolero, Abba and Air Supply as much as the next 43 yo man, but nothing says "Drat the Man, the System and your Mother-in-Law!" as well as Punk. VICIOUS FOREVER. |

Tuesday, October 06, 2009 11:48:21 PM And another thing, this is NOT an authentic 70s costume. A realy 70s chick (we used to call girls "chicks" back then) would definitely not be wearing multiple layers of clothing. She would be wearing a halter or tank top with no bra and her nipples would be clearly showing through the fabric -- like this famous 70s chick:

Tuesday, October 06, 2009 11:37:41 PM Skeezer1991, I will concede that punk can provoke emotion in the same sense that I am provoked by a spoiled child throwing a temper tantrum in a grocery store. I find them equally entertaining.Good music evokes (not provokes) GOOD emotions. Punk is just an irritant. |

Tuesday, October 06, 2009 12:49:45 PM Ugh, OldOllie I'm sorry, but no. No no. No... The reason people like punk is because it actually provokes emotion. The bands would actually put passion into their music unlike any prog band who just sit there sweeping all day. Sure, it's talent, but talent is definitely second to passion in my opinion. |

Tuesday, October 06, 2009 12:14:41 AM It's been said...If you can remember the 50's, you were square. If you can remember the 60's, you weren't there. If you can remember the 70's, you wish now you could forget. If you can remember the 80's, you're as sad as sad can get. |

Monday, October 05, 2009 10:53:20 PM First, aviator glasses are designed to conform to your field of vision, not to look cool. I wear them because they're functional, and I don't give a $#!+ what anybody thinks. Second, music of the 70s, except for disco, which SUCKED, was great UNTIL punk. Prog rock (Yes, ELP, Genesis, Kansas, King Crimson), fusion, (Mahavishnu Orchestra, Larry Coryell, Chick Corea, Passport), and AOR (Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Mountain) were in their heyday. Then we got punk, which wasn't music at all; it was anti-music. The worse they sang and played, the more they sold. Music didn't recover for nearly 10 years until speed metal (Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai), prog metal (Queensryche, Fates Warning, Dream Theater), and neo prog (Marillion, IQ, Pendragon) came along. I play guitar, and it's not worth my time to listen to musicians who aren't at least better than I am. That's why I NEVER listen to punk. Regarding the post, I'll have a smoothie! |

Monday, October 05, 2009 10:27:55 PM > SarahofBorg > Culture now says that lots of pubic hair is unhygienic... stuff serves a goddamn purposeYeah... the purpose is to soak up sweat, smell revolting and get up your nose in the other sense too. I haven't met an unshaved woman in 15 years and I'm not wishing for the old days at all! Everything is SOOOO much nicer down there these days, you have no idea! |

Monday, October 05, 2009 10:00:09 PM I was a teenager in the 1970s. This photo is obviously just a joke...the actual 70s were much worse, and not just in terms of pubic hair. The whole decade was pretty much a big waste of time up until the advent of punk rock. |

Monday, October 05, 2009 9:16:47 PM You know, before modern times, female pubic hair was seen as a symbol of fertility and highly valued. Victorian women would literally braid it and wear bows with it. So don't give me this natural instinct BS. Culture now says that lots of pubic hair is unhygienic and that's what people believe, even though it's actually the opposite of reality. That stuff serves a goddamn purpose, at least with women. |
