Friday, October 02, 2009 11:21:44 AM Show a kid turning on the bike. The gyro wheel will actually make it harder to turn as when the kid tries to rotate the wheel it will actually make the wheel 'want' to fall over instead. (It's really the way gyroscopes work, and the reason it stays up, and subsequently spins as it falls)But gyroscopes are fun to play with. |

Thursday, October 01, 2009 4:10:26 AM Step 1) while extremly young Remove pedals from bike Step 2) Allow kid to scoot himself along and learn to balance first Step 3) After kid has figured out the balance thing and is zooming around all over the place, add pedals.Gal that has a family of bike nuts taught me this trick, her grandkids, 3 & 4 years old 0_0 Holy crap do they know how to ride, had no idea little 1 gear toddler bikes could go so fast |

Wednesday, September 30, 2009 12:45:37 PM Its a good idea, but how much does the wheel cost? Most kids i know just leave their bikes in the front yard or on the porch with little thought of it getting stolen. Now... imagine that bike having a $150 tire on it, that someone could easily remove and put on EBAY. |

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 11:55:31 PM How do training wheels promote bad habits? |

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 10:34:27 PM It's not that complicated; human beings learn to walk on two legs on a similar basic equilibrium principle to riding a bike. Learning to ride a bike is not about aquring a new skill but rather adapting an old one onto a new purpose and so it is indeed possible for some kids to pick it up quicker (almost innatley) then others.I, on the other hand, took freaking forever. |

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 8:46:59 PM All of the nice people on here make me feel so warm inside On the subject, I have no clue how I learned to ride a bike. I just didn't know how to when I was little so I used training wheels... never tried to ride one without, and when I got older... I just ...did. still confuses me when I think about it. |

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 7:17:38 PM I say again, if you don't like it, do us all a favour and f*ck off elsewhere. Frankly, it'll save me the bother of banning your hate-fuelled, vitriolic ass.Dick. |

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 7:17:26 PM Manorrd> "Nidonemo...it was a joke...you know...those things you post every day..."Manorrd, I for one am getting seriously fatigued by your constant bitching about this site, and how crap this site is. Frankly, I take deep personal offence at you labelling the people who run this site as BIGOTS, or for that matter, recently you called us FASCISTS. Dude, tt's a free internet, how about you f*ck off and go to another site? Be thankful that we're more easy-going than some other sets of Mods out there. On most other sites, you'd be perma-banned by now for trolling. |

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 4:38:00 PM "i dont know about anyone else but i learned how to ride my bike by falling off, getting my lips busted and elbows scraped."I only fell off once while learning, although I did manage to fall through a rose bush into a rockery. I only had a small scar on my elbow for years from that. I've no idea why I wasn't hurt worse. I fell off many times after learning though, because I tried far too many foolish and often probably impossible things on my bikes, usually involving a badly made makeshift ramp or a steep hill. On one memorable occasion, I regained consciousness in the bottom of an empty skip. The last thing I remember before coming to was thinking that I could "surf" by standing on the seat of my Chopper. Sure I could, but not for long. I don't remember coming off, or how long I was in the skip. It's one reason I'm glad I don't have kids - I'd go spare worrying they were doing the dangerous foolish things I did. |

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 1:09:44 PM Great so now instead of spending $15 dollars on training wheels my kids are going to want me to spend like $150 dollars on this thing. |

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 10:45:31 AM This is absolutely BRILLIANT!!! That's more like how a real bike behaves than training wheels. I was the last kid in my class to learn how to ride a damn bike - wish I would have had this!Or, you know, a father. |

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 10:31:58 AM I think i had training wheels for about a week, But I couldnt do that cool stop where you lock up the back tire and make a giant 'J' skid mark like my friends did, so i took them off. |

Tuesday, September 29, 2009 4:35:46 AM Now that is cool, now the next step how much would they be charging for the device. Cause they easily price them selves out their intended market. |
