Wednesday, September 23, 2009 9:22:12 PM This isn't a school-It's the Portsmouth Sinfonia, info from Wikipedia: "The Portsmouth Sinfonia was a real orchestra founded by a group of students at Portsmouth School of Art in Portsmouth, England, in 1970 — however, the Sinfonia had an unusual entrance requirement. Players had to be either non-musicians, or if a musician, play an instrument that was entirely new to them. Among the founding members was one of their teachers, English composer Gavin Bryars. The orchestra started as a one-off, tongue-in-cheek performance art ensemble but became a cultural phenomenon over the following ten years, with concerts, record albums, a film and a hit single. They last performed publicly in 1979." So it's sort of a joke, but not really... |

Wednesday, September 23, 2009 3:48:58 PM this is musicshopped. Just humor - no one would hit the notes tat right in the start an screw it up so much in the endings. It's a jest, folksters :) |

Tuesday, September 22, 2009 11:13:39 PM The name of the piece is actually "Also Sprach Zarathustra", composed by Richard Strauss in 1896, and it was based on Nietzche's book of the same name.I know this because one of my friends texted me and made me look it up for him for a test. My friends like me. |
