Saturday, September 19, 2009 8:12:49 AM the teenage welfare mother that lives in the projects is complaining about that awesome woman that hit her kid? Is she mad because her current boyfriend didn't get first crack? |

Friday, September 18, 2009 11:48:29 PM Yeah kids now need more spankings anyway. My question is how the fark did the mother not know where her kid was for the lady to be spanking him in the first place. |

Friday, September 18, 2009 8:07:19 PM All I have to say is, where was mom? MAybe if she didnt roam around leaving her brat unattended this wouldn't happen. I friggin hate to go to a store and see these people letting their brats run around like the mall or the store is a babysitting service. Little brat probably needed his arse swatted. The kicker is when the kids break something or the parent loses the kid they get upset people weren't watching their kid and when the store attendant tries to stop unattended kids from breaking stuff or making messes the parents get upset...but oh don't let the little brat get hurt, then they want to sue someone. yeesh. |

Friday, September 18, 2009 7:07:18 PM Until they have a video and another witness, I think the whole thing is bull. It might not have been a "spanking" as some people think of it.I had this issue once working at a camp. A parent gave the kid 2 soft slaps on the butt- no sting, no pain. Just pats. Which could VERY well been what happened. EVEN THOUGH it's wrong to touch a stranger's child, I really don't know if "assault" is an appropriate term That parent had the cops called on them and faced assault charges because of one bitchy lady who called the cops all the time for nonsense. No one else thought of it as assault. |

Friday, September 18, 2009 6:11:21 PM On behalf of parents, kids know you can't spank them in front of people. These days you look cross ways at your kid and someone calls child services on you for abuse. Have to take them to the bathroom and spank them.Yeah people need to punish their kids more. (a lot more!) but we aren't allowed to do our jobs any more! As long as we aren't beating our kids leave us the hell alone when we swat their butt in the grocery store because they want a cookie! |

Friday, September 18, 2009 5:53:52 PM Although some kids are little sh*ts and their parents let them behave so (further aggrivating my desire to whallop them), a stranger has no right to spank a child. The woman should've communicated with the mum about punishment, not the kid. There may be an unforseen context. As for tantrums in public, as a person without a kid, I think it's easier to be judgemental. I'll wait until I have my own rugrut before being so harsh on parents. Your PC Lovey-Dovey attitude is why nobody bothers helping any more, for example, when a bag snatcher or rapist runs past them - they just say "It's not my job" because as a child, no-one was allowed to even tell them off, except their own parents. Ummm... Really Lionhart? Sounds a little flakey to me. When the going gets tough, people do what they can. Most of the time, people haven't encountered such a volitile situation before and freeze. At the end of the day, it's the person who commited the crime who is the douche. |

Friday, September 18, 2009 4:33:52 PM Though I hate being in the majority, that's where I find myself on this issue. COMMON SENSE, as Lando said. I am soooo tired of other people's children running amok in store aisles, running the grocery cart up my leg, screaming and having tantrums in public. I would NEVER have done any of those things- ya know why? Because I just knew that I would deeply regret it once I got home. My parents never had to spank me - they instilled a respectful amount of fear in me. I never really knew WHAT they would do - but I knew I didn't want anything to do with it, whatever it was. I was taught right from wrong and I never got away with making excuses for my behavior. The most effective thing my parents did to me?...told me they were disappointed in me because of something I knew was wrong but did anyway. Man, that sucked! I'd almost rather have my ass beat...almost. It's too bad more kids today don't have that kind of respect/fear of their parents. Too many parents want to be their |

Friday, September 18, 2009 4:08:56 PM > ggolbez > If you touch anyone elses child that is not your own without permission, you are one of the lowest forms of life there isBULL. SH*T. It is the responsibility of SOCIETY to demonstrate to its young, a standard of behavior that is acceptable and the consequences of failing to adhere to that standard, and it is the responsibility of ANY and EVERY adult to do that. Your PC Lovey-Dovey attitude is why nobody bothers helping any more, for example, when a bag snatcher or rapist runs past them - they just say "It's not my job" because as a child, no-one was allowed to even tell them off, except their own parents. There was once a time, not long ago, when if you did something wrong, the local cop slapped you, literally dragged you by your ear home, and waited round to make sure your parents gave you a thrashing too. And it worked, until the 60's when everyone decided Love was The Answer, and crime went through the roof. |

Friday, September 18, 2009 4:01:43 PM The only mistake she made was slapping the kid for misbehavior instead of the parents for terrible parenting. |
