I think the point is like Koala said is that IAB isnt stealing stuff everyone does and its really not stealing. The problem is what they show or link to. It used to be a wider variety of videos and links and it was very rare to see just a picture in a post, in fact, i remember when i first saw that kind of thing probably 5 or 6 months back that it was odd. I still go here because i enjoy the occasional genuinely funny link posted on here. |

Well, as far as I can tell, i-am-bored is providing a pretty unique service allready - - eBaum was once a week (and dead. And stole.)
- Cracked (sister site) has lots of articles, linked here form time to time
- College Humour: Cracked has articles, CH has videos IAB is pretty much one of the only sites (oh yeah... digg, but the format is just, bleh, commercial) that aggrogates just about everything from the net, thats what made it great in the first place. As you said, you are finding the right balance. Right now IAB seems (to me) to be a diluted fratboyesk, graphjam, failblog, it doe snot know what it is. Pree june july 2007, we had everything from "the Lonely Astronaut" (flash) to Fast RC cars, to news stories of fail and Win. To me, IAB was the site you'd go for "HEy! Check out what I found in this obscure part of the net!" It still has some of that, but again, there is a lot of what is everywhere. |
