I think it was a mistake telling a newspaper, because now people who read - and thus have more money - will recognise him and walk straight by with their chin up.Still, if you could make up to AU$400 a day (or your country's equivalent) from sitting around, wouldn't you? Perhaps if you had something to do like playing a guitar or something, otherwise it would grow tedious. |

Oh wow, some FAT LAZY BUM says he makes 50k a year off the streets! Seems plausible, TOTALLY believable! Especially considering he is no doubt seen everyday lazing about the sidewalk like jabba the hut! I can realistically see this is absolutely the truth! |

Bah! I make double in Boston...There's a cool homeless guy near me. Apparently, he's really smart but homeless... and he's the raggedy homeless too... long hair, tattered clothes... I remember once seeing him in the supermarket pondering over what kind of boloney to buy. |

I hate people like this. I met this one homeless man in a wheel chair and he said he had cancer. He asked me for 20$ so he can take a cab to this shelter before it closed. The next day I saw the very same person running across the street. |

A lot of people do this :( It is rather sad. I know people who actually need it... I see them downtown and they aren't like this guy... Though, I do avoid the intersection of Hastings and Main Street.... They DO only spend whatever you give them on drugs. ...They always offer me drugs when I walk past... then I scurry away frightened. |

That's what my uncle used to do. He had a job and everything but as soon as he got off work he'd go to the bar then once he was out of cash he'd go beg then back to the bar. |

Yea but thats $50,000 Australian... thats like $25,000 Canadian, or something like 10 Euros. So its not that great.Anyway, now that his cover is blown, people will recognize him and hate him. Unfortunately, I have just been convinced not to donate a penny until I make at least as much as he does. Oh, and I agree with Opie, but ya' know... its an art what he does. |

haha i've begged before...with one friend one time..it was late as hell and we were bored..so we were beggin by the blue line stop and sum lady gave us like $4 in quarters..(she was really drunk..and driving lol) in like half an hour we made like $9..and that was at 2AM..its a very lucrative career |

This has been done to death, yes you can make alot of money begging. It has been shown in studies and "exposes" time and time again. It also doesn't mean everyone who begs is rich, some people actually need the money. |

I don't know about this guy, but some people just beg to get a bit of extra money. One person had a job and a nice house and begged to get an extension or something else expensive. |
