That's what veterinarians are for. The only disturbing part about that was seeing the poor dog in pain and getting home surgery. It needs an antibiotic shot after that stint, not ointment |

Poor, poor puppie. I think I'd sooner take it to a vet to have them removed... in a far less painful manner. But that dog was a trooper, he didn't even try and bite the owner or anything. |

Grosss, When I was in Panama, one of the little boys living in the village I was staying at had a puppy, & it had a huge lump on it's nose. I asked &you guessed it, botflies. nasty. :/ |

"awwww, that poor doggie, why would they let it get in that condition!?! "Naw, they love their doggie, was just a chance that the dog got the bot flies and they were taking care of it by taking them out. Would have been in a lot more pain later if they hadn't taken them out. :) |

AmyNicoleduh: Actually, this doesn't hurt at all. The dog is only in pain when he squicks (don't know the right word, sorry). Otherwise, dogs are very strong animals; unlike cats who whine about everything. :p |

I was fine the entire time. I guess that's from being desensitized to people squeezing pimples and botflies out on the internet. Eating them at the end was fine too. Have you guys seen that Discovery show where the guy is trying to eat this GIANT larva and as he chews it all of its guts squirt out at the camera? D: That was bad. |
