Monday, August 24, 2009 10:31:37 PM This, my dears, is called a Brand Book, and it's something given to their own employees to make sure they use their brand name correctly' I don't see it as a jerk move or whatever, it+s normal to try to protect your brand from missuse.Things such as zippers and thermos have lost their trademarked brand names because they didn't protect their brand name. I'm sorry to sound like such a pedant, but writing Brand Books is actually what I do for a living. |

Tuesday, August 18, 2009 11:03:17 PM One more reason I hate adobe with a passion.. Off to photoshop some images. I purposely did not capitalize "adobe" or "photoshop" just to hopefully piss them off.

Tuesday, August 18, 2009 12:56:24 AM Kleenex Band-Aid JacuzziAll of these are brand names that are not actually supposed to be used to refer to the generic product. Just try to get people to stop calling their Hot Tub a "Jacuzzi" |

Tuesday, August 18, 2009 12:54:03 AM I remember it said a very similar warning on Legos. It said "The brand name Lego (R) is not a noun. Please refer to our product as 'Lego (R) Bricks' or 'Lego (R) Toys' and not simply as 'Legos'" To which I responded, as a VERY young child, "but they're Legos! Why wouldn't I call Legos 'Legos'?" |

Monday, August 17, 2009 11:14:17 PM Of course, if you don't use the trademark properly, it isn't a trademark anymore. Loopholes, anyone? |
