Saturday, August 08, 2009 3:12:25 PM Osi, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but... that's not why they're called Improv Everywhere. So whether the art of improv requires practice or not is irrelevant, they are named Improv Everywhere because to the unknowing bystanders it looks like a bunch of strangers are spontaneously doing it.So um.. calm down, eh? I don't know if you mean it, but how you talk sounds very forward and angry when read over the internet. I mean for Christ's sake pal, you might as well just put it in caps lock. Just chill, 'kay? You don't want fights following you everywhere, do you? I agree with Ninja. |

Saturday, August 08, 2009 1:00:01 PM @ SuperSmash: Thank you for making that point so I didn't have to.The "freeze" thing has officially become lame. One that was posted here awhile back showed a large crowd of people "freezing", AND THEY WERE THE ONLY ONES PRESENT! Afterwards, they erupted in this huge cheer like they had just done something really cool. It kind of loses its purpose when there are no uninvolved people around to see it and scratch their heads and say "WTF???" @ iPirate: Any good improv requires some planning beforehand. An improv group that takes audience suggestions has discussed beforehand what possible answers they could get to their requests and have a basic idea ahead of time what they'll do in certain circumstances. Plus most audiences aren't very creative. There's a good chance that some audience somewhere else gave them the identical suggestion and they'll go with what they know. The challenge in improv isn't creating material, it's creating GOOD material. |

Saturday, August 08, 2009 11:13:23 AM iPirate "I never understood improv everywhere. They are the opposite of improv. Their "skits" most likely take months of planning."The point isn't to improv, but to do acts that seem like something that just happend at the spur of the moment. thats the improv they show us... great folks! |

Saturday, August 08, 2009 10:42:26 AM I think someone needs to look up the definition of "spontaneuous". I know for sure that it doesn't mean carefully planned. |
