Thursday, August 06, 2009 10:09:03 PM Angilion: Yeah I pretty much agree with everything you said. About the whole Boadicea thing, lol, thanks for all the info, but I didn't have any idea about the connotations. I just heard the name in a Libertines song, and liked the sound of it. ..Aaand I just looked at the lyrics and see I didn't even spell it the way they did, so it's basically a completely meaningless name on the whole. |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 4:30:28 PM Generic 'you':If someone cheats on you, thank them as you leave. They've done you a favour by showing you that they are unworthy of you, because that reduces the amount of your life you've wasted on them. They've lost you. You've lost them. So who's got the worst of that? Are they better than you? |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 4:27:28 PM Well said, Boadicea. A planned assault like this is the work of disturbed minds and could lead to worse. Thrill-killers usually start with lesser violence and realise they enjoy it. By the way, 'Boadicea' is a mistake, made centuries later. It was either a copying error or an incorrect transliteration, I forget which, but it is definitely a mistake. Her name was probably Boudicca, although that may have been more a title than a name. It might have been Boudigga, a god of victory in battle worshipped by her tribe (and others), i.e. she was seen as some form of representative of the god. That would explain why she was able to raise such a large horde so quickly. She's also a bad example for you, given your views, as she was very much in favour of extreme violent revenge and general psychopathic slaughter of anyone remotely associated with Romans in any way, or who just happened to be there when she destroyed towns and killed everyone. |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 4:11:48 PM nikkypickles: The direct comparison is valid precisely because it's a direct comparison. Your argument about average physical strength is specious:i) You say it wouldn't require a group of men to attack a woman in this way. So? It doesn't require a group of women to attack a man in this way. ii) You say a man could beat the crap out of a woman instead of doing this. So? What relevance does that have to an attack like this? Regarding another aspect of violence, especially domestic violence, you're placing far too much emphasis on strength and the commonly believed but rather bizarre assertion that men are somehow armoured against physical injury. The most important factor is the will to harm. Especially in DV, other psychological factors come into account. In summary: Strength doesn't matter anywhere near as much as you think. Strength is irrelevant to an attack like this, unless it's superhuman strength that makes restraint impossible. Also, humans can use weapons. |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 8:58:38 AM Lionhart2, I got yer back. You are right. The only REAL crime committed here is that the dude was screwing the ugliest chicks in Wisconsin - I'd cut my own dick off before nailing those bags of fugly. |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 7:00:21 AM I agree with Lionart's first few sentences, but not the last one. It's human behaviour, but human behaviour would have you murder and steal too. But civilisation and society demand you refrain from your base urges. I strongly disagree with what the women in this article have done though. Yes, he may cheated, and they wanted revenge by humilitating him, but it's never worth it. She's stupid, she should have just left him on the spot and lez it up with her other ridiculous friends. |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 6:55:31 AM teatimecream has a good point. in cases like this, just forget about the person. I dont see how someone can dwell on something like this or still be emotionally attached to an ex, its sad.

Thursday, August 06, 2009 6:14:52 AM I've never quite understood revenge, all it does is lower yourself to that persons level, and it achieves pretty much nothing but trouble for yourself....Why not get a brain, and realise the sweetest revenge is to cut the person who has wronged you COMPLETELY out of your life, and go get a better life...It isn't hard..

Thursday, August 06, 2009 6:00:14 AM You couldn't be more wrong Lionheart. Not everyone does it sometime in their life. That is an excuse used by folks who cheat.I can tell you that, even though I was a professional musician, any of the time I was in a relationship, I never cheated. Believe me, I had MANY opportunities. Being a professional musician, on the road, I'm away from home and being hit on constantly, by drunk women. Cheating is, IMO, one of the worst things you can do to someone. It damages their self-esteem, their ability to trust... Luckily, I've never been cheated on, but I've had to clean up the mess from those who have. I am above cheating. Cheating is a low life, scummy thing to do. If you want to have sex with someone other then your partner, then have the balls to leave them first. Don't screw up their life to have a night of sex. To the women out there. Don't fall for that "All guys do it" B.S. It's a lowbrow excuse to make women accept guys who cheat. I applaud the wom |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 4:56:29 AM Spambot and others, he didn't have a relationship with the pictured woman. In this photo released by the Calumet County, Wis. Sheriff's Office, Michelle Belliveau, 43... The women are free on $200 cash bails. Investigators say all the women BUT Belliveau were romantically involved with the man...

Thursday, August 06, 2009 4:53:36 AM Having read through all the comments below, I remind you all of something: Cheating may be nasty but it isn't a criminal act; what the women did certainly IS. He is the victim here. You can blah-blah about cheating all you like, but everyone, male or female, does it sometime in their life. |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 3:14:56 AM I agree with angillion, but it's still not a 100% comparison. Scenario 1 - woman cheats on husband, husband can beat the crap out of her. Scenario 2 - man cheats on wife, wife (in at least 50% of cases) can physically do little more than maybe slap his face and throw a few weak punches. Then husband beats the crap out of her.Granted there are domestic violence cases where the woman is the dominant bully, but usually mere physical strength means that it wouldn't need a gang of men to physically restrain the cheating woman and assault her. I agree - the "got what they deserve" line should not be bandied about - but direct comparisons cannot be taken in isolation. |
