Thursday, August 06, 2009 12:39:00 PM Read the personal care sectionPersonal Care This category includes showering and grooming. (it also includes an average of 54 seconds spent on "personal or private activities" like having sex) So the average American spends only 54 seconds having sex. Good to know.

Thursday, August 06, 2009 9:13:31 AM the graph is def wrong or they are not factoring the youth of America. How many late teens early twenties do you know that are in bed by 1 am instead of eating or on the PC or just hanging out with friends |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 3:22:21 AM Wow, Yanks are big, fat, lazy, TV-loving tards. Just teasing. Us Irish folk are much the same. We'd rather spend a half an hour watching a pop idol than investigating we're being fleeced by banker bailout implementations. (Yep, it's happening here too). |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 2:56:33 AM There is a section for "Couldn't remember" - genuinely couldn't remember or didn't want to say. The female of the species is more guilty of this! |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 1:21:58 AM At Bullish: Absolutely, man. The depression problem is omnipresent if not prominent in Europe as well, don't worry. The Belgian population takes an awful amount of antidepressants every year, either because of working a job they didn't study for/want to do but do anyway because you simply have no choice, or because of unemployment. Society here has pushed us to the limits of becoming one with that misery, in fact; a lot people aren't able to sit down for a day and rest without having to do anything that affects them socially or financially. They live with stress, and to a lot of people here it's a feeling of security that you mean something, and are part of something greater. A lot of people get children without being able to take care of them in the slightest, and their feeling of security and independence is greatly diminished by their inevitable inability to live for themselves and by themselves. Work, alcohol, and pills seem to be the only things people can refuge to. |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 1:14:47 AM Goalie Jerry:Congratulations, you're a trained monkey. "We" are the richest nation on earth. No, your country contains some of the richest people on earth. You average person, even with the massive skewing of people like Gates, Athletes, etc, still earns less than 10 other countries. Are you in the top 1%? 10%? Then you're worse off than the average European. Your CEOs earn on average 400 times their average worker. In the UK (your closest rival) it's 100 times. In Europe in general, it's closer to 50 times. The average American is not wealthy. Their boss is. Congratulations. You are a slave to one of the most prosperous people on earth. (Additionally, if you didn't have a hand in your country's success, don't be so prideful. *They* put a man on the moon, *you* watched it on TV. That's a big drating difference you seem to want to ignore.) |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 12:51:44 AM That's a nicely done graph, liked how you can mouse over for specific info. Also, I thought the 2nd across, 3rd down category was "Not in IAB", so I expected that to be like absolutely no-one. |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 12:49:23 AM People forget that there are no differences in race but often times these are cultural reflections and behaviors within cultures. Psychologists use these all the time for marketing, so they know where to best relate to and find their consumer index. And, its pretty sad when people assume the worst when a survey like this is done. |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 12:35:16 AM Patthebaker - it isnt a comparison of blacks to white/hispanics it is just the %s based on the reponses that black people gave. When u select a filter you are asking to see how black people spend their day, there is no racism intended. Overall this is a well done study. |

Thursday, August 06, 2009 12:32:44 AM I find it weird how Americans seperate the ethnicities in surveys, why does it matter? In Canada we never ask what race you are... except the natives... |
