Friday, July 31, 2009 9:50:34 PM and everytime you have a bad day at the office or workplace you get a million people tearing you to pieces or a 1000 articles telling you where you went wrong if the marketplace dictates that you are worth what A-Rod gets then you are entitled to get it. an athelete is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for them

Tuesday, July 28, 2009 7:04:10 PM I wonder how athletes got to that pay scale in the first place... I'm thinking that it must have come after radio / television, but I might be wrong. Both doctors and athletes have to do years of intensive training, but doctors have to pay for all those years of college tuition, whereas athletes (usually) get it free. Doctors fulfill a need in society, whereas athletes fulfill a want. Prime does have a point though, that most doctors nowadays are in the business for the money and not the lulz. Though, who can say athletes are any different, really...? |

Tuesday, July 28, 2009 4:12:31 PM why is it so damn hard to understand that your income is based on value? An Athlete brings in more revenue than a doctor does....a few doctors are hired FOR athletes. and once again...doctors arent drating charity either, they don't save lifes, they charge an arm and a leg to keep them running for a few more years |

Tuesday, July 28, 2009 11:58:32 AM I think it's wrong too but you aren't going to pay a surgeon perform surgery? But people will pay to see someone run a ball up and down a field. |

Tuesday, July 28, 2009 7:24:44 AM jedimonk excuuuuse me European culture has allways been known for its blandness anyhow we never really had anything interesting the only culture that was remotely worth considering dies with the invention of the cotton factory. But we fdo welcome alot of other cultures and can boast a wide range of these cultures playing a central part of our economy e.g food we have indian chinese cantonese, Britishin america you ussually just get a large hotdog or ribs covered in BBQ sauce we have that here aswell. We have many mosques and other particularly eastern designed building all around and deal in just about any sort of trade good we can get our hands on including dreamcatchers and alternative medicene has been embraced here quite readily aswell. but youre right we dont have much of our own culture left oh wait football and cricket. |

Tuesday, July 28, 2009 6:35:35 AM I think it's so cute when europeans try their darndest to hang on to their culture which will, as we all know, inevitably be swallowed up by the watered down, homogenized culture of the US. You keep truckin little man! *pats on head* |
