At a guess, it sounds like she has Schizophrenia. The psychosis, mentioning that 'the devil made her do it'... There's a correlation between being fanatical about religion and schizophrenia. Still doesn't excuse what she did. Makes me feel sick thinking about it. |

Bad news lady. I met with the Devil today for questioning and tea. Turns out he has a solid alibi as to his whereabouts at the time of the murder. He was hundreds of miles away rollerblading in South Beach with Dick Cheney. Nice try though. |

I AM saying I sympathize with the woman. Somebody should have known that she was psychotic; one doesn't just decide to go insane and murder a child. This could have been prevented by anybody close to her. |

it's not about the devil or religion. It's about having more knowledge about PPP\PPD post partum psychosis and post partum depression. I was diagnosed with PPD (lesser of the two) PPP is rare but very dangerous, it's basically a psychotic break. We need more awareness of PPP\PPD. I'm not saying sympathize with the woman who killed her child, I'm saying if we were more aware of these things (including the woman and her medical professionals and community) it wouldn't happen like that. |

Really? They really think she might have suffered from some sort of mental crisis? Is it considered normal in the US to kill a baby because the devil told you so or why do they only "suspect"? This woman needs to go to a mental institution, not a prison. |

I know the common "She's PSYCHO" might be answer but WHAT makes her psycho? Why is her mind like that? I think until God and/or Satan are proven beyond any reasonable suspicion, and no, faith is not proof.. people like this need to be locked up and punished even more severely for trying to pass off a lame excuse to get out of jail. |

would they take the blame for their own actions or would they just not have a name for their other "voices"?"if people were reasonably creatures and religion was never created then crazy people would have no excuse for what they do. and everyone on both extreme ends of the spectrum of human behavior would never get away with what they do to people |
