Ha! I kept getting mail from Smith College. It's an all-woman school. Psh.A college with just over three-hundred students? I'd die! I hope to be attending UCLA, but I may get some tuition covered. |

Holy hickup, that's a huge leap from second place to first! Why not just buy an apartment instead? I suspect that'd be cheaper. It'd work for all of them, 'cept the one where you are required to live there. |

most people i know who went to uni work in shops.i went straight to work from school missing the 2 years for college and i got a proper job in IT |

I REALLY don't see why American University's dorms can be THAT expensive. Those rooms are like shoe boxes with three people living in them.. and the bathrooms are shared between two dorms.. which are comparable to airplane bathrooms with showers. Then add all of the junk three girls can jam into one room.. and you're basically paying $13,000 for a walking path, and a bed. |

Hmmm...I don't know...$1050 a month for an apartment in Manhattan doesn't sound too bad if all you have to do is take a few courses. |

most of those schools are private schools and are therefore able to give out amazing financial packages to help people for tuition (i would know, i'm going to one of the schools on that list this fall). the state schools are the places where it's really expensive because most families are having to pay for it without any help...
just a little perspective on the whole thing... |

My entire professional degree costs less than a year of living at the #1 place.You'd have to be stupidly rich to want to live at most of these schools. Either that or you enjoy being it debt. |

Wow.. those are expensive.. I will be paying just under 5000$ for my own room + roommate in other, kitchen and bathroom fully furnished place on campus in the fall.. |

Sure makes me appreciate my private bedroom, suite style bath dorm for $6400/year.It seems to me that part of the cost might be due to how famous the school is (i.e., Berkeley, UCLA), so part of it might be paying for the "brand name" as it were. |

Haha, I went to number 6 and didn't realize it was so expensive compared to some but then welcome to CA. You can't live anywhere for cheap. But then, I stayed out of the apartments and the more expensive options.

I commute to Drexel. sucks that the the ones who dorm have to pay for the meal plan cause the food sucks lol, it's all about the food carts. |
