Monday, July 27, 2009 7:34:11 AM Anyone know why some of the ladybirds have like black and white areas on the back of their heads and some don't? Is it a sign of sex and, if so, which one is male and which is female? |

Monday, July 27, 2009 4:18:39 AM Gosh lady bug swarms are disgusting. I once rode my bike through one and I had them flying in my eyes, mouth and nose. |

Monday, July 27, 2009 3:52:00 AM Roaches are not actually know to carry any disease, and are actually one of the cleanest insects around. Roaches are commonly perceived as filthy because they generally live where there is much filth. But contrary to that roaches are not as filthy as the garbage they live in because of their extreme grooming habits. |

It does not surprise me that the thought of touching one disgusts or scares most people. They are fascinating creatures, however.

Sunday, July 26, 2009 11:11:30 PM I work at a day camp in Colorado, and so I was there for the swarm and it was *so* cool. In the afternoon the kids and I would watch literally clouds of ladybugs flying around in the afternoons, and it was really quite beautiful. And then one little kid came to me with two *busy* ladybugs and said "Look! Their butts are kissing!". XD |

Sunday, July 26, 2009 10:12:35 PM What stuck me most about this video wasn't the number of ladybugs. But the wonder of the child. It's something i miss from being little. When everything was new and exciting. |
