So...that 4 year old just got on the bus ALL BY HIMSELF, walked into the tattoo parlor, handed a wad of cash to the tat artist and said "Gimme a Batman tattoo"? And his Momma got SUSPICIOUS when the kid started getting a lot of calls from girls at his daycare, or something?? I mean....is it just me, or might the kid's parents have had SOMETHING to do with the kid getting a tattoo? |

A parent who is not Jewish and not forced to do so by religious tradition argues and studies long and hard (pun intended) about whether or not to circumcise - pediatricians are divided about 50/50 on the issue. It's not a no-brainer |

Thank Megido. There are a lot of people fussing about getting ears pierced, and how that's just wrong etc etc. But I'm sure most (I stress most),if they have or will have a little boy most of them would not think twice about cutting a piece of them off shortly after birth. |

There's a huge difference with this and a piercing. A piercing can simply be left alone and it'll grow away, or it won't be all that noticeable, the freaking tattoo needs to be removed with lazorz. Perhaps we should compare it to some other more common form of body mod done to children without their consent...i'm ofc talking about circumcision. Though this is still better as the children probably wanted the tattoos themselves, even though i don't think they are old enough to make a very good decision. |

I don't think a kid should have any piercicings either...not until they are at the age when they can decide for themselves if they want their ears pierced, then sure, but doing it to a child of 9 months is just wrong o.o
i dont think any baby wants to feel that pain, and it does bloody hurt...its putting a hole through your ear lobe, of course it hurts. |

Giving a kid a simple ear piercing is fine in my mind, since it's easy to hide later. It doesn't cause the child a whole lot of pain (well, if they're old enough, I think 9 months is the age for most store policies), and it's something inconspicuous and easy to heal.However, a highly visible tattoo on a child? That's wrong. The child isn't old enough to know the lasting consequences of this - that's why we all have parents to sort us out when we're young. It's because we don't know what to do with ourselves. When a parent shirks this responsibility and lets their child do something that could be regretted for the rest of their life, it's wrong. |
