i see that happydragon still likes to beat up lesbians. and just to be a grammar nazi, you shouldve put a comma between 97 and idiot because, even though an iq of 97 does classify you as an idiot, i dont think you meant to say your score was 97 idiot. the average is, in fact, 100. |

And even though this whole IQ thing is completely off-topic, just to add a bit more to it  ...and it becomes more irrelevant with increasing age; in children the IQ is a good indicator, however, at my age for instance, transforming the formula (age=43; measured IQ=146), that would theoretically mean I had a "mental age" of 63. However, few 63 year-olds would have my mental faculties still. So in the formula, "physical age" doesn't mean REAL physical age, it means "a person with all their faculties who has lived that many number of years with the same learning and experience opportunities throughout" - something which cannot ever happen in reality, because the older you get, the less "new" situations you come across from which to learn. |

oh to add also to my commentif u take ur mental age (lets say 20) by ur physical age(again. lets use 20) 20\20 = 1 and times that by 100 = average for ur age grp. any lower then u are below avg for ur age and above is well... above... |

IQ = (mental age/physical age) times 100
and its outdated due to gardners theory of multiple intelligences (becuase in phsychology u cant prove a theory due to the complexity of the human mind) and garnder's theory states that every person has the ability to learn anything but at the same time the mind focuses on one type of thinking and style of learning (I.E. audio/visual/kinesthetic learners)  |

IQ stands for "Intelligence Quotient", that is, not your intelligence, but your ABILITY to learn. So the tests usually ARE valid, they are not testing "just one area", they are testing your capability to work out the problems, which applies no matter what field you apply it to. |

I've taken 6 IQ tests, One from mensa (They want you to pay to be a member, After they grade your test). Mine have ranged from 140 to 165. I may be smart, But I'm not arrogant. I'd have no idea how to rebuild an engine or construct a house. There are different kinds of intelligence and an IQ test can't measure them all. |

The test must therefore have been an idiot quotient test, as they're saying it measured how much of an idiot they are. The average idiot quotient, apparently, is 75. The test ranks them as much more of an idiot than average, which seems accurate. |
