Tuesday, June 09, 2009 5:29:04 AM Ouch!!But funny! It kinda looked like the bull got him in the groin. Would have liked to see the damage that sort of thing caused.... and maybe laughed at the matador a bit more. |

Thursday, June 04, 2009 5:38:13 PM i glad it happened. those are spears hanging from that bulls back and hes probably in quite a bit of pain. "touche" the matador says. if the spears werent there, then id be more concerned about the guy. |

Thursday, June 04, 2009 1:26:45 AM Male dogs and roosters and other animals do fight, especially during mating season, but it is almost never to the death. The bull has his tendons in his neck cut so he can't raise his head. He has also been stabbed multiple times before the matador even enters the ring. It's one thing to be killed for food, quite another to be cut up and slowly bled to death. In rodeos they tie very tight ropes around the stallion's genitals to make it buck like that. In circuses, elephants are routinely beaten severely. Most forms of animal entertainment involve a great deal of torture. As far as cultural heritage goes, slavery was part of the cultural heritage of the South, doesn't make it right. |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 6:33:12 PM "Bull fighting is no different than dog or rooster fighting."I disagree. Dogs and Roosters do fight one another naturally, As do most male animals during mating time. I'm not condoning animals fighting one another for gambling, That is pretty obviously illegal. Remember Michael Vic ? Bullfighting however is different, It is an art and it's the cultural heritage of Spain. Yea they have kinda fruity costumes, But I for one won't condemn it. Nor would I condemn rodeos, circus', or other animals based shows |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 6:29:14 PM I hope that the matador suffered for a very long time and then died. bullfighting is a disgrace.Crakrjak, the bull has no say in the matter when it is selected to face a man with a forged steel spear, the odds are all against the bull. its just an enraged animal that cant help what it does, and inevitably ends up dead almost all the time. as for ""It has to do with the torture that the animal is subjected to all in the name of entertainment." So I guess your against Fishing, Hunting, Horse racing, Dog racing, Circus', Aquatic parks, and Falconry as well." they just dont compare, horse racing and dog racing involve no killing of the animals, they were bred for going fast. fishing doesnt end up with the animal getting killed, and if it does, they are usually eaten. takes around 2 weeks to a motnh for a fish to recover from being hooked, upsetting though it is. goes the same for hunting- at least they dont suffer. |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 6:15:47 PM I'm not animal rights nut but BumbleBB is right. Rights or no rights, the reality is they torture this bull for amusement. If the bull could talk and you could ask it, "Would you rather be killed quickly and used for hamburger or be able to be put out to stud and be slowly tortured and killed in an arena full of people?" Which do you think the bull would answer. It's pretty obvious which it would be. This issue has nothing to do about consent, it has everything to do with what's right and wrong and torturing an animal so we can be entertained is disgusting. Bull fighting is no different than dog or rooster fighting. They're all wrong. |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 5:41:56 PM "I'm sure this bull is not consenting to die for you to watch."In order to "consent" one must have rights first. Animals do not have rights, They have protections that we people give them. My cat doesn't give me "Consent" to wash it and keep it free of fleas. In fact it's a battle to keep the soap on for the required 5 minutes. I love my cat, But It doesn't have rights. |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 5:36:51 PM twigglepuff: You're anthropromorphizing and I won't be suckered into that. Truth is no one can know what the bull "feels" and you're lending emotions and thoughts to the animal that it likely does not even have. I love animals, But people like you take that too far. What I see is a guy stabbing an animal that likely would be a future hamburger or steak. At least this bull has the opportunity to become famous and put out to stud. |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 4:30:45 PM any sport that serves to only display the slow agonizing death of a creature is inhumane. Let's get for real folks. you don't have to be a member of PETA to agree with that. do you see the labored breathing? It's suffering, and pride and glory are human inventions. I'm sure this bull is not consenting to die for you to watch. |

Look if you're a PETA member why not just come out and say it ? Just because we don't like to see animals in pain, doesn't mean that we are from PETA. Most people have more of a conscience and understand the pain and suffering these animals go through just in the name of sport. Circuses, and animal racing is not a good thing for the animals involved. Try putting yourself in the situation of the bull: Confused, angry, in excruciating pain. Or of a circus animal: whipped, cattle-prodded, kept in small cages, scared, loud noises and bright lights. Just look it up. Google images. |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 3:04:06 PM Psh, nice generalization there, cataclism0. I'm Spanish myself and I HATE this... can't call it sport, really, it's just a cruel form of entertainment that should be banned. Also, bull win. |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 2:50:16 PM @CataclismO Sure, like we all Spaniards are there cheering up the matador... Don't hate a whole country for what a bunch of people like. But let me tell you something. As MikeW points out, the conditions in which most of animals destined to feed the humans live are much, much worse than half an hour of agony... Specially those chickens you eat at kfc. At least bulls destined to the Arena live in freedom, well fed and in excellent conditions. So... What's worse, a life of sh*t and a "merciful" dead at the slaughterhouse or a great life and half an hour of sh*t? I'm not that sure anymore... |

Wednesday, June 03, 2009 2:10:39 PM "i hate spaniards, i dont give a crap about animals dying, i eat at kfc, but this is the slow murder of an animal for pathetic entertainment. fight the animal without a towel, stop abusing its mental weakness and kill it like a man"You just summed up all my opinions on this video into one post. |
