Saturday, May 30, 2009 11:31:48 AM OK I don't care who she is or what she believes when you're dealing with a president where receiving death threats happen a bit, you need to comply with security. They didn't hurt her. |

Friday, May 29, 2009 4:39:21 PM "The Roman Catholic Church does not ordain women. The fact that this woman referred to herself as a "Catholic Priestess" raises some issues about her sanity." Indeed. XD But...there are other groups that call themselves Catholics, without being related to Rome. Independent Catholics, Ancient Catholics (from the Neatherlands) and Liberal Catholic Churches are some of them.Interesting attitude, huh? I mean...the fight for women's rights should be so close to the fight for gay rights, and there are so many hypocrites out there... This makes me happy I'm not a Christian anymore. |

Friday, May 29, 2009 4:19:17 PM but..but..but the Bible is the holy word of God... If it's in there then God put it in there whether Paul thought it would be included or not. I mean, if we start saying parts of the Bible weren't meant for modern day peoples, then how do we decide which ones to follow and which ones to throw out? We'll have to let people get divorces and let people eat shellfish, and stop stoning women who are not virgins on their marriage beds. |

Friday, May 29, 2009 3:48:45 PM Pilanus, you are taking those quotes out of context. Corinthians 1 & 2 were letters to the church established in Corinth, written by Paul. Instructions for personal behavior in those two letters were intended for the people of that church. They had a problem with prostitution in that town and Paul was addressing the women, instructing them to grow their hair long, not wear makeup and to keep their mouths shut. He wasn't saying this to be mean. All of these attributes were very common among the prostitutes. Just make sure you know to whom the writer intended the book to be read by. I'm pretty sure when Paul wrote the letters, he didn't think they would be put in the bible years later. |

Friday, May 29, 2009 3:31:35 PM Catholic Priestess, against gay marriage? Someone is obviously cherry picking the Bible, or is Corinthians 14: 34-35 not in her Bible?"The women are to keep silent in the churches; for they are not permitted to speak, but are to subject themselves, just as the Law also says." "If they desire to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is improper for a woman to speak in church." Taken directly from the Vatican approved New American Bible... I love Hypocrites, they are so amusing, even when they are being pricks. |

Friday, May 29, 2009 1:56:19 PM Wait, so she's more than willing to ignore the Catholic Church's discriminatory attitude towards women by calling herself a 'catholic priestess', but she'll happily throw a tantrum infront of the President to defend its discriminatory attitude towards gays? Wow. Nicely done, crazy lady. |

Friday, May 29, 2009 1:07:13 PM Yeah. If somebody came up to me saying that they're a "catholic priestess", I'd be inclined not to believe them either. Nor let them near the president. |

Friday, May 29, 2009 11:47:56 AM The Roman Catholic Church does not ordain women. The fact that this woman referred to herself as a "Catholic Priestess" raises some issues about her sanity. The Secret Service did nothing wrong, in fact, they showed admirable restraint. The job of the agents on the Presidential Protection Detail is to (drumroll please) PROTECT THE PRESIDENT.That would include not allowing people in public places who have not been screened or cleared to just walk up to the President and hand him something. Kind of a no-brainer I think. And before anyone starts ranting about "Presidential Thugs", understand that the Secret Service is a part of the Treasury Dept., and since its creation in 1865, their PRIMARY task is safeguarding the integrity of he U.S. Financial Systems. They were informally tasked with Presidential Protection at the request of Congress after William McKinley was assassinated at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, NY (my hometown) in 1901. |
