"WOOOOOAH THERE Mister, idk about you, but we OBEY Newton's laws of Thermodynamics on this website."

Newton's laws of thermodynamics? You know, Newton's laws aren't right all the time... the laws of thermodynamics are, however - good thing Newton didn't formulate them :)

"Lol, yeah you guys are probablly right, but that makes me think, what if you got a larger model with something with more grip vs. an artichoke pedal? Just give it a quick start spin, and couldn't it potentially have the energy flowing through it non stop to keep this machine going?"

ryan99: Sadly, that doesn't work. You'll always lose energy to friction and wind resistance in moving parts, making any device like the one you're suggesting stop eventually.

This is on display at the MIT Museum, along will a bunch of other amazing little machines. If you live in or are visiting the Boston area go to the MIT Museum in Cambridge, it's fantastic!

Strangely blew my mind. Think how long it took to plan and construct, yet it conveyed, something.
