Monday, May 25, 2009 3:29:40 PM msieg007As for the link, I find it kind of unfortunate that loss of human life wasn't even considered. ---------------------------------------------------- I approved and processed the link. I guarentee you, the loss of human life was my first thought. However, I also feel an obligation to the original poster of the link and I try not to change their wording where possible! Trust me...those on IAB who know me, know I value human life above all else! |

Monday, May 25, 2009 12:49:11 PM LOL, sorry guys but I'm not going to entertain by turning into Super-Knowitall-Wanker (for once!).I was thinking of the physical states (liquid/gas being exclusive) - Crakrjak's second explanation is very probably right, it never occurred to be that it's an American website so they probably meant "liquid gas" as in "liquid gasoline". And indeed Almighty, the Titanic was built in my own home town of Belfast. Not exactly our finest claim to fame! |

Monday, May 25, 2009 10:44:17 AM #3 kinda pissed me off as I read it. So they were turned down by everyone to eventually split apart in the sea? Nice going Spain, France, and Portugal. Course, I wouldn't know the ways of doing things in that sort of situation...And also...head-on train collision? But...buh...what? |

Monday, May 25, 2009 9:34:28 AM davymid: I think they meant Liquified Natural Gas. Similar to propane, It's under a lot of pressure. It's sort of confusing since we Americans call Gasoline (or petrol for our European friends) "Gas". |

Monday, May 25, 2009 9:33:09 AM "p.s. What the feck is "liquid gas" referred to in the Piper Alpha post? They're kinda mutually exclusive..."It's natural gas as it is known when it is extracted (as opposed to oil) which is liquid through pressure, so whilst it is not a gas, we still call it gas because we like messing with your heads. |

Monday, May 25, 2009 9:15:18 AM Nice catch Crakr. And the Mars lander just missed out (quick spot of googling comes up with figure of $125 Million, just below the Titanic). Now if the list were not "Most Expensive", but rather "Most Retarded", the Mars Lander would certainly be in there. Considering the programmed part of the data in feet and part in meters... D'oh! p.s. What the feck is "liquid gas" referred to in the Piper Alpha post? They're kinda mutually exclusive... |

Monday, May 25, 2009 8:06:27 AM I don't things that the tax payers have to pay for should be included, because they just take our money and build another one. It not real money to them. |
