Thursday, May 28, 2009 6:48:09 PM Ok sure, Verizon operator=douchebag. But what's to "figure out" about paying the phone bill? It's $20 fa christ's sake. What was more important, getting into a pissing contest about 20 bucks or finding the guy? Just pay it and bitch later! |

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 3:24:21 PM It's possible the Verizon system wouldn't allow them to turn his phone on without payment. A regular CR wouldn't be able to help the cops even if they'd wanted to -- it's entirely up to the set-up. |

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 10:54:48 AM Wha- isn't that illegal? Refusing to cooperate with the police? Or am I being naive? |

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 9:47:08 AM I don't think it's that they couldn't trace his phone, it's just that they refused to because he had an unpaid bill. Wow, what total butts. |

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 9:00:58 AM the only thing surprising about this is that anyone's surprised by this. |

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 1:57:28 AM This is the same bunch of retards who work for Verizon's tech support and think rebooting your computer/rebboting the modem/unpluggin the phone jack and pluugin it back in fixes everything. They wouldnt help the cops (arent they OBLIGATED by law to do this?) track down an unstable man over 20.00? If I were that man's family, and something would have happened to him I would have SO sued the a$$ off Verizon. Seriously. Verizon sucks. I'm switching to Brighthouse. |

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 1:21:16 AM And here's me thinking the refusal might have something to do with his constitutional right to privacy or something; how naive am I?? |

Tuesday, May 26, 2009 1:11:43 AM So... the only people they can keep tabs on are the honest citizens who pay their bills... but if you're a bill-skipping crook, you can't be traced?? What Einstein thought that one through? |

Monday, May 25, 2009 9:02:45 PM I personally have AT&T, but I know that there's no real difference between them and Verizon, or Sprint, or whoever. They're all greedy bastards. I mean, really, you people honestly think they care about the customers? ...Right.

Monday, May 25, 2009 8:50:29 PM Thank You SuperSmash. I know what you are saying first hand. Cops are NEVER seen as good guys anymore. They are not in the news when they save a life. Just when they make a HUMAN mistake. |

Monday, May 25, 2009 8:19:29 PM I don't want to sound like Verizon's P.R. firm, but I'm sure this was the action of one employee and not representative of Verizon as a whole. Just putting that out there. This is one of the countless examples where cops do the right thing. Which they do most of the time but nobody cares. People only pay attention when the cops screw up and this only got out there because someone else screwed up. We love it when other people screw up, don't we? |
