"Asplosion" was an obscure reference to Homestar Runner, "your head asplode." Maybe you already knew that.

I think it is either a stun grenade or a test fire of the detonator cap.

Well Bob, I'm sick of everything so yes, I am sick of the "asplosion", but what are you gonna do.

Is anyone else getting a bit sick of 'asplosion' instead of 'explosion'? Every single goddamn time. It was funny at first, but it's been taken too far.

this is like 1980s, the camera sucks, cant get a very high fps, and the nades are old school

"The clasic grenade I remember has a checkered exterior. I'm reptty sure it makes it epxlode faster."
Actually, those caused the grenade to fragment, meaning the little pieces of it do the damage. Modern nades are scored on the inside.

I work for an army R&D lab. The modern grenades we (the US) have don't explode like that. They immediately shatter into a 360 degree pattern of shrapnel. The high-speed camera of those grenades is an even cooler video than this one.

Lets face it, is there anything that isnt cool in slow motion? Granted, paint drying could get tedious.

i'm pretty sure it doesn't just crack in one spot because of the shape of the grenade optimizing energy distribution

sweeeeeet! the thing i wonder is how the grenade shell doesnt just split in a spot instead of it all fragmenting at the same time. anybody know why? maybe its the extreme speed of the charge inside..

cool!!! even if you could make things go slowly enough to see that happen, theres no way you could get close enough to actually see it without a camera.
