Wednesday, May 06, 2009 4:20:54 PM So, instead of using your arm to hold the electric thingy, use a robot. At least put some lasers or something on it, geez. Money = Laziness. |

Wednesday, May 06, 2009 9:11:31 AM it would take more time to strap the sheep in than shear it normally. smart technology but its a kinda fail with a bit of animal cruelty as well |

Wednesday, May 06, 2009 12:04:10 AM Boo when I saw the beginning of this clip I thought it would just spin round, like on a lathe and the blade would come in and shear it |

Tuesday, May 05, 2009 11:08:12 PM > Agentk120 > 8 years and 400 sheep? I bet a decent shearer could turn out more sheep than that in a monthLOL weren't raised on a farm, were you? In 1892, Jackie Howe shore 321 in 7 hours 40 minutes, using traditional shears (that is, like scissors, not machine-operated). The week before he also set a weekly record by shearing 1,437 sheep in 44.5 hours. |

Tuesday, May 05, 2009 10:45:53 PM 8 years and 400 sheep? That seems entirely pointless. I bet a decent shearer could turn out more sheep than that in a month. |

Tuesday, May 05, 2009 9:16:29 PM Remember when they cloned Dolly the sheep? Its a sheep. You go to any paddock, yell out "Here Darling", and 500 identical faces look at you. They're already cloning themselves, what a waste of science! |

Tuesday, May 05, 2009 5:05:09 PM 400 hunder over that many years??? are you effing KIDDING me? people shear that many in a DAY. and btw, the sheep being Sedated doesnt make it less bad, it's ALWAYS ALWAYS dangerous to sedate an animal, and it's not good for them. it wreckless and stupid, and i've never heard of such inefficiency |

Tuesday, May 05, 2009 4:52:16 PM Have to agree, It doesn't look very efficient a shearer doing this by hand does this much much faster. But the fact that they have programmed a robot to do this (Without hurting the sheep) is a feat in it's own right. |

Tuesday, May 05, 2009 4:51:56 PM the title doesnt make sense, and this is why -_grammar nazi mode: on_- 'robot sheep shearing', this means shearing sheep of the robotic kind. because sheep is after robot, thus robot describes sheep. however, if it were 'sheep shearing robot' that would make much more sense. however even that one has a minor flaw, it can be read as a sheep that is shearing a robot, but at least this one can be partly correct in the fact that 'sheep shearing' can describe the robot. meh, i woulda just went with 'robotic sheep shearing' aaaand end grammar nazi. |

Tuesday, May 05, 2009 4:27:26 PM That doesn't seem very efficient, nor does it seem fun for the sheep. |

Tuesday, May 05, 2009 3:29:57 PM nice experiment, but people do better and faster, as to reduce the stress on the animal, this sheep had been doped up to with stand this process |
